So apparently not many others have recognized that certain instructions function based on the space that other players vacate? Or that attacking AI in general functions based on how space opens up around them, which is why this year's iteration of the game is annoying because of the change EA made in defensive coding ('zonal marking')? I'm glad more folks are starting to figure out how to effectively use tactics and instructions on their own. It makes the game much more fun for the individual, as they can create their own system, test, tweak, and implement.

I had another inverted full back system where I played 3421 and used the d pad to play with extra striker and the lcb will step into midfield form the 235 it’s been really fun. I’ve tried yours and I like it even more, much more balanced

@@AlexionIQ sadly doesn't work on old gen, you cannot invert your fullbacks. You also cannot drop between defenders except on a 3/5 back formation. Assume they made this change for the pro-scene but was my favourite way to attack in a 3-2-5 or 3-3-4 My only solution is 5212 with both full backs on hug touchline and attack, two CMs on stay back. You get the right shape but it's a more rigid option vs the inverted FB. Shame

Been using inverted Fbs all year, with the 4-3-3(5) and the 4-2-3-1(2) having just one Fb invert. Nice to see others using it effectively

How do you use it for one? I just tried it but the other FB that i have on Stay Back still tends to overlap to the outside giving me a Back 2 instead of a Back 3. It's like the backline doesn't shift into a proper Back 3.

I just leave the FB i want to Invert on balanced with the Wing/Outside Mid thats on same side as Inverting Fb on stay wide. With Dm or CM on same side on get forward ( like instructed in the video). Then have opposite sided Fb on stay back, run type on mixed. It ends up creating a off balanced back 3 slightly shifted towards the stay back Fb's side sadly can't quite get a perfectly symmetric back 3 when doing so. I found it can be dependent on the get in to the box sliders, but could also be build up style or chance creation style thats causing your Stay back Fb to get forward or combination of the two. I usually play balanced or possession, chance creation. Hope this helps @@BurnsideAdmiral

You can try having the stay back fb as stay back inverted and he should drop back and play as a wide center back in possession and out of possession he’ll play his fullback position. That should be the answer but you know eafc

Inverted wingbacks form a double pivot in the defensive midfield in possession…. But I’m not even sure if it matters in fifa

I found this in the beta hahah, commented on a news article somebody wrote on the subject too at the time, just shows how few people pay attention to the nuances of the game and just choose meta meta meta sadly😂 there’s also a fun tactic with your middle CB in a back 3 going forwards and creating huge overloads in the middle

I did the same idea but with 4141 with both cms get forward and balanced inverted fullbacks. Went 19-1 in wl last weekend

Better put them on stay wide if you're using both full backs as inverted otherwise, the attack would be too narrow.

Mate, if you don’t mind helping me out if it’s possible to make a single inverted left full back with a cdm in midfield. I play a 4-2-3-1 on New Gen. Must they both be CM’s or can I be CDM? Reference is Cucurella in Chelsea.

Just put the left sided cdm attacking instructions to "get forward" and the left back to inverted and stack back while attacking.

Trying it on the 4132. But it doesn’t work. They don’t invert into the CDM. Going to try some other tactics.

You say about players not dropping back from midfield to make a 3-2-5, I’ve found if you put a CDM on deep lying playmaker they drop back between the CBs - might be worth a try

@@AlexionIQ I’m a pompey fan and watched them the other week against Northampton. We play a 4-2-3-1 in defence then go into a 3-2-4-1 in attack. The left mid comes inside to have 2 10s with the left back providing the overlapping width on the right. The right mid stays wide and right back stays back. I don’t know if something like that could work in game?

Still can't believe they got rid of drop between CBs, used to be the best way to attack in 325 and not have to be a back 5 guy. As other comments have suggested, inverted doesn't work on old gen sadly - much like quick free kicks. Kind of thing that should get addressed in a patch but never will.
