This stuff last forever but the cup always get brittle and breaks in a couple years drying it out. You can add water to it and knead it and bring it back to 100%. I just did it with two very old, dry cups of it. I placed them together in a Mason jar and put a small bit of water in the bottom of the jar where its not touching the putty. That will help it not dry out for a decade probably. It looks like brand new. One cup was probably as old as 2008.

I only use 100% clear silicone by GE it will never leak, plumbers putty will breakdown in short time cracking causing leaks & a mess to get off sink & strainers.

@@CoinOfFaith hey I have a union housing hooked from the pool pump to the filter tank & it leaks so ive tried Teflon tape, lube sealant & just cut my own rubber gaskets/seals but it hasn't worked.... Would this putty work? Well actually I tightened it so much to where I actually just snapped the union so nevermind I give up
