I love the Red Soviet Hat that you are wearing in your profile photo! I've ordered a black Soviet Hat from Shopee last month and when it arrived, the badge on it was that of the Russian 2 Headed Eagle instead of the symbol of the Soviet Union, even though the seller showed a photo of the hat with a Soviet badge. 😭
@russia.online3 жыл бұрын
That hat saved me in a spring trip to Saint Petersburg. One should wait till summer for a warmer welcome there. It's a shame that they sent you the wrong hat. Maybe I should raffle one of these off, what do you think? But first I need to get my hands on it:)

This is probably a stupid question but is english language options still widely available in Moscow given how much things have changed in the past 18 months?
@russia.online Жыл бұрын
No question is stupid. Yes, there's also multilingual terminals too. Don't worry.

I am an Australian suburban train driver. The trains look heritage and seem very clean. I enjoyed this video because it's always interesting to see how other countries run their networks. Do you tap your Troika cards upon boarding and when exiting the trains? Also, is fare evasion a problem? We are constantly battling this issue
@russia.online Жыл бұрын
Hi 👋 Just noticed your comment. Glad you liked the video. No, we scan Troika card once at the entrance. I don't think that fare evasion is a problem anymore. We have almost full-height doors instead of turnstiles.

Metro Moscow, is it easy to use, because i wanna visit moscow next month for the first time,what advices could you give me concerning means transport I should use,and places to visit. Thank you for your response.
@russia.online Жыл бұрын
I think Moscow Metro is quite easy to use except for lots of stairs. I suggest you to visit Cathedral Square and Armoury Chamber inside the Kremlin, Red Square, Zaryadye. It's all in walking distance from each other. And from there you can take a river boat on the sunset. Also I suggest visiting VDNH.

Thank you so much for useful video. Sorry for my stupid question. I will fly abroad for the first time on october and Moscow is my dream city. Can I share 1 '30-day trioka card' with my boyfriend?
@russia.online7 ай бұрын
You're welcome! You will need separate Troika cards. You can top them up as much as you want. And you can also return them and get your 50 rubles back. Good luck on your trip to Moscow ❤

It's your choice. You can do Line 5 (Circular line). You will find many beautiful stations there.

If I buy the troika card for a day I can travel as much as I want ???. In buses and metros ?.?
@russia.online2 жыл бұрын
No, it's not a day travel card. It's more like a pass. You need to top up it. Then you can travel cheaper.

Thank you. You can try to ussie a UnionPay card at your home country. Official site of UnionPay says that part of merchants accept UnionPay cards, including stores, supermarkets, restaurants. Also there're ATMs that accept UnionPay cards for withdrawing cash. Or you can just take dollars with you and exchange them to roubles in Russia.
