At 3:25, I explain where you can set the date range comparison. If your scorecard is set to show last month and you'd like to compare month over month, instead of choosing compare to "previous year," select "previous period." Does that answer your question?

Hi! Is there a way to "interchange" the metric value and comparison? Comparison is the bigger text and the value is below it. For example: Avg. CPC -59.30% $0.57 And is there an option to customize the comparison date range when viewed by the client? Instead of the Previous Year, Previous Period, etc., the viewer can choose any date range they want. These are basically the comparison features on Google Analytics that I want to recreate in Data Studio 😅 Thank you so much!

Hi Amy, would you know how to wrap text in score card? I have a long text and it exceeds the size of my box. I do not want to adjust the size of my scorecard box. Is there is any way to wrap the long text of score card?

Hide the metric name and create a text box that you wrap. But if at all possible, shorten the metric name. The longer it is, the more cluttered it will seem, which isn't what you want for your dashboard.

Hi Amy, thanks for the video. I have a data studio table with 5 matrices on it. I have 2 matrices in which are the negative values and should be displayed as green when compared and the rest 3 negative should be red on compare. Is it possible to compare the 2 fields(with negative values) in green? and rest should be the default format(red). Would be looking the same comparison in 1 table.

Unfortunately you can't change the arrow to display different colors within comparison columns in the same table.

I am importing spreadsheet data into Data studio and the scorecard comparison function does show any results when referring to the date specific events within my dataset. Any ideas why it may not be showing?

There's probably an issue with Data Studio not recognizeing your date formats. Make sure it's in the correct format, and that "Date range dimension" has your Date column there.

So you need to have 2 years data on one sheet ? Can it be done in blended data sheet ?

I'm not sure why you'd need blended data for scorecards since they're only one metric. You don't need 2 years of data, you just need the data to supply the scorecard you are building. What are you trying to build?

@@PaidSearchMagic I have a similar question. So I am designing a dashboard for hospitals who want to see the data from 2018 compared to 2019. They want to see each metric such as spend per hospital, spend per month, linen pounds per month and so on. How did they increase or decrease from previous years. I have no issues showing current year or doing another page and showing the previous year. I was asked if I could do this on the same page as they change date searches. I hope that makes sense.

Actually, you could just remove that text and create a text box using a smaller font. Just tick "hide comparison label."

Hi Amy - is there a way to put a formula behind a scorecard? As in, I have total users in a scorecard, and total sessions in another. I'd like a separate scorecard that calculates average sessions per user. I could do this in the original data source, but I'd like this number to adjust as the date range is changed on the control menu on the dashboard w/in data studio. Thank you!

Not sure I understand. Scorecards just display a single metric. You can add a line chart under / next to the scorecard.

In one of your posts you had multiple comparisons for 1 scorecard (YoY and MoM). Did you just put 2 scorecards on top of each other or how did you achieve that?
