Sorry to say but finished result looks like a real cow-boy job! Firstly cable should have been cleaned with something like thinners or nail varnish remover to remove all traces of oily residue and hands washed too. What works well is to use a glass top table to mix and mould or flat kitchen top. For cables, after shaping into flat worm length and moulding Sugru around it, slowly roll it on work top to remove lumps and bumps with a smooth or waxy piece of cardboard or similar rolling cable back and fourth. This will result in a professional finish. If unsuitable surface is available, grease proof oven paper could be taped onto smooth surface. Each container of Sugru is about the size of a sugar sachet and has to be used in one go as chemical reaction cures it upon opening. It is not very sticky or gooey and has a consistency between Plasticine and putty. It does not get warm when curing. Once cured feels and acts the same as rubbery Mac cables with the same flex. Bonds well to existing cable and aluminium end. Permenant fix which after a month has no signs of becoming unstuck at ends.

I used it to re-attach the handle on a coffee mug years ago and it is still holding fine. Used it today in fact. Dishwasher doesn’t bug it.

Rolling it on kitchen paper doesn't seem like a great idea as some of the paper, I'm sure, will stick to the Sugru you are rolling. You don't mention what you did with the remaining Suglu or did you use it all up?

I can't remember now but I know the two times I've bought the stuff, I have neglected half the packet and ended up wasting it. BUT it is great stuff. My primary goal was reinforcing my macbook air plug/cable and I did that ok, if messily :)

@@DamianBrown Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it, as no other KZbin contributor that supplied videos on Sugru replied. We already know it so expensive to buy but now it seems it can cost twice as much if we add in the unusable leftovers. So we are now talking about approx. $30 or so for this tiny pack of moldable glue that has no track record, that I'm aware of, of being suitable over the long term as a repairer or any other use it is advertised as being good for. Of course if a plan was made to use most of it for other projects once the sachet has been opened would reduce overall costs.

it says shape it in your hands and clean your hands using toilet roll or paper towel AFTER sticking it to something , not roll it in paper towel

Has anyone use this to stop leakage from copper pipe.

Attaching a hose to a copper pipe is what I'm trying to do right now but it doesn't seem to be curing properly it's been over 24 hours and it's still moldable has not been exposed to any water and I just put it in the sun to see what that would do

To get it to cure/ set better. Not resting on anything which could change the shape for example. I could have done it nicer but it worked great until I changed MacBook!

For the copper pipe question I am extremely disappointed in this product and I recommend industrial hot glue works much better on most things if not everything so far the only thing that I've seen that this segu stuff is for phone cords so you ain't trying to reinforce a phone cord I think it's useless and I wasted $24 on it I'm quite disappointed in the product
