The problem with "remote override mapping" is you are then limited to using that controller for ONE thing you map per session. In other words, if you want to use the MIDIMIX for any other device in your rack, you'd have to manually create mappings all over again while also losing your mappings for your mixer you set up. That's why it's best to have mapping FILES under the hood so you can maximize the use of the controller.

Good to see a video about Akai MidiMix with REASON. I am a REASON user who brought an Akai MidiMix on Monday, I plugged it up with USB and I thought it does not work because the toggle buttons on it do not light-up. Just want to know do you have this issue, or is it normal that those buttons won't light up when using MidiMix with Reason Studios?

I couldn’t get them to light up either. There may be a better way to midi this in and have it work. But this was the easiest way I could find to do what I needed. I also use a Mac so I’m not sure if that makes a difference.
