Hi Erin, I watched both your 8/3/2016 version and the fully updated version your provide in this link. Thank you for doing these; they are very helpful. I like your voice in this older version (8/16/2016) much better. The new version is higher pitched and hurts my ears.

Thank you so much Erin. You saved me a lot of time today as I marked up my manuscript sent from the publishers. I could not find the comment tools but you found them for me! My book is Media Law for Journalists and is published in Sept. 2020 by Routledge.

You didn't talk about Text comments and text boxes. I am having trouble with my text comments. I can type the text comments but when I click off the box, they are no longer viewable. Can you help?

Thanks. I don't understand why on the Mac I do not get a text cursor once I select the Comment tools. I have to select a particular edit/comment tool to get the cursor. Sure would be simpler to have it automatic as you demonstrate. (Also you might consider adding a link to this one from your earlier video which is first in search results.)

I primariy use Adobe Acrobat to insert text and highlight PDFs for school. However I'm used to doing on on iOS which is really easy and intuitive. But on the desktop version it seems like a pain - for example, once I have the insert Text option selected, it does not stop inserting text no matter where in the window I click, which results in a million text insertion on the page. How do I "click out" of the Text Insertion tool? On iOS you can simply click outside of the text box and it deselects the text. Also resizing the inserted text is a real pain with the desktop. Also, is there any way to program a new shortcut for the "Insert Text" option? I know there is one for the Text Field option but I'd rather not use that
@erinwrightwriting
@erinwrightwriting 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Eric. Thank you for watching my video. Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for your text insertion issue because when I click out of a text box, the text insertion tool is automatically deselected in my version of the software. (I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro on a Windows 10 PC, if that helps.) Perhaps you can try selecting another tool, such as the Selection arrow, to see if that will deselect the text insertion? I will look into new ways to program a shortcut and create a tutorial if I find out anything that may help you. Have a nice day!

Hello, Nora, thank you for watching my video. When you are in the Save As dialog box, select the Settings button and then select "Include Comments." Although highlights aren't comments, they are part of the same mark-up system, so that may help. Best of luck!

Have Adobe removed any functions? I was able to add a checkmark in Adobe Reader XI under the "Fill & Sign" menu. Cant find a way of doing it in DC. Not a huge fan of the redesign personally.

Thank you Erin, that was really helpful. I need to be able to use this to proofread a document I am being sent. I don't have Adobe Acrobat downloaded onto my Macbook Air, and they are sending the link to the document electronically ("via Adobe Cloud"?). Do you think this means I will have an email link to open a browser page (and I can edit online) or should I download Adobe Acrobat? Thanks!
@erinwrightwriting
@erinwrightwriting 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my video! I doubt you will be able to edit the file directly from Adobe Cloud. But, don't buy Acrobat right off the bat because Adobe always offers a 7-day free trial. Also note that you can do many of the same proofreading tasks with Acrobat Reader DC, which is free. Best of luck!

Hi Erin, I enjoyed your videos. I just started using Read&Write 11 to help me deal with dyslexia and slow reading speed. I am really enjoying that. However, previously I used Drawboard PDF on my Surface Pro 4 so that I could thoroughly markup documents with the Surface Pen. Is there an option in Adobe DC to utilize my Surface Pen/stylus in a similar way? Thanks for your consideration!
@erinwrightwriting
@erinwrightwriting 7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my videos! I don't have a stylus, but I think you can use your Surface pen by going to Tools, selecting the Comment tool, and then selecting the pencil in the Comment toolbar. Good luck!

Just upgraded our office computers and have Adobe Acrobat DC installed on them. We are in the construction/consulting business and receive alot of electronic shop drawing submittals in PDF format. In previous versions of Acrobat, we were able to use the comment, tools, and stamp feature to notate corrections that need to be made. I routinely used the selection tool to copy and paste the same comments and stamp from one page to another within the same file. This new version wont allow me to do that. I try to select comments and/or an inserted stamp to copy to clipboard...and it doesnt select anything. What am I missing here? Thanks!
@erinwrightwriting
@erinwrightwriting 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for stopping by, Chad. If you're on a PC, you should be able to copy and paste a stamp or sticky note comment by clicking on it with the normal arrow cursor to select it, pressing Ctrl+C to copy it and then Ctrl+V to paste it. However, I don't think you can do that with the highlight comment tool because it is attached to specific text.

So when you make corrections or pop up notes can you see the information when you print the document? I'm in real estate and when making corrections to contracts you need to be able to see the notes when printing.
@erinwrightwriting
@erinwrightwriting 7 жыл бұрын
If you want all the markup information to appear, you can select "Create a Comment Summary" from the Comment Pane (click the three dots) and then select from a couple of printing options. Or, You can select "Summarize Comments" from the Print window to have all the comments print at the bottom of the document. I hope that helps. Thank you for your question. I will try to make a full tutorial on this topic very soon!

Hi Erin, LOVE your videos on this subject. I was using Acrobat for reviewing medical files for legal reviews. I was wondering if there was any way to highlight text and having that same text appear in the comments, as the title for that comment directly, without having to go in and re-select that text, copy it, then re-insert it as the title for the comment? Thanks Erin!

@erinwrightwriting
@erinwrightwriting 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching my tutorial. Acrobat doesn't have a free-form highlight tool that you could use to highlight a circle. However, you could use the Oval tool in the Shapes in the Comment toolbar. If you choose yellow and then lowered the opacity, it would look like a highlight. Best of luck!

So the delete option is the same as undo? Is there an easy way to undo your last edit?
@erinwrightwriting
@erinwrightwriting 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, Tasha. You can use the delete function to remove any edit. Or, If you're using a PC, you can remove your last edit with Ctrl + Z, which is undo, if the file hasn't been saved yet. I hope that helps. Thank you for watching!

Thank you for watching. You can see the underline markup tool in the updated version of this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5XZkqGsi7Bkj9U. However, if you want the underlining to become part of the document rather than a editing markup, use the underlining tool available through the Edit PDF toolbar instead.
