Nice video. When testing patch cords you have to use special channel adapters! Current testing of cables requires special channel modules. A normal channel = test of link including 2 crosslink cables Patchcord modules: Cat5E cabling: DSX-PC5ES Cat6 cabling: DSX-PC6S Cat6A cabling: DSX-PC6AS Coaxial SET: DSX-COAX Coaxial cables: DSX-CHA003 M12 cables: DSX-CHA021S

The patch cord adapter should be used for testing patch cords. Channel adapters should not be used for testing patch cords.

@@babarrahmaan276 Sorry for the delay in answering, but this is a common question. In the ISO standard, they don't have Cat 7, they call it "Class F". If you select an ISO Class F test, that is the Cat 7 limits. Be careful, you will need Cat 7 connectors to pass the test.

He set up his test as channel but he is using the permanent link adapters. You have to use the correct test limit with the cable type and adapters you are using or you will get error messages.

Yes, the only difference is that a DSX-8000 offers a Category 8 test, otherwise they are about the same.

No sir they are not. The steps in the video show how to NOT test properly, and they leave out significant and very important details. You can find tutorials and training videos at Fluke.com website. These will train you on how to properly use a DSX 8000 Versiv.

I have tested my cat5e using a same cable analyzer like yours. However, when i transfer the test result and open in laptop, the resistance result is shows N/A. It should have reading in ohm. Can u help me how tu get resistance result in test result

Is this an extremely short cable? That may be the cause. Another option would be to run a (+PoE) test.

Was the wire certified or did you the the rj45s or jacks?

Bad wire map, means the termination quality is not as it should be. Pin out issues/ reversals/ opens/ shorts/. Examine the quality of the termination at the location point of testing and redo using proper tools and know how. Are you, or any member of your crew or staff, a certified NCS?
