I like the tip but it very hard to see. I think a screen recording would help

Screen recorder could help, but recorded by Procreate is not good, because it will not record menu, color selection, etc. And screen recorder will not record the hands, so sometimes it is very hard to know where the pen goes, and do what. But I agree this vid is quite hard to see the letters of menus, or tools names, although I used iPad 12.9 inches with 1080 to watch this vid.

Hey thanks for the tip! But you lost the outline... you can maybe mention in another video that is best to do outline, color, and background in separate layers, for any kind of digital painting or illustration. That way you can change the color more easily without losing the outline, and combine alpha lock with the freehand selection tool to paint just half of the leaf in another color. Just a suggestion ! Maybe new artists don’t know this tip. Anyway, still good explanations :) nave a nice day!

Hi there! There are several ways to achieve that, one way is to make a selection and then copy and paste only the element you want in colour - then, select the bottom layer (the original layer with everything in it, and then apply a hue and saturation effect, turning th saturation slider all the way down. That should do it!

Hello. I'm new to digital painting, just got an iPad. There's something I want to do with layers but I don't know how to. I want to have: 1 sketch layer 1 ink layer 1 painting layer for skin 1 painting for clothes 1 painting for hair. Now, what I want to do, is create the painting layers and make them so I can only paint inside the inked shapes. My issue with this currently is that for the protect alpha option, I must already have painted inside the inking, which I don't want, or, if I duplicate the inking then fill up, it's also bad because I don't want to have duplicate inking layers, as I might want to do little touches on the ink later and I'd have to repeat it many times since it's repeated. Is there any way to select areas, without painting them, then drag that selection to another layer, and only then painting? Be it by bucket or protect alpha style. Anyone, thanks.
