I've had one of these laying around two or three years now and I'm starting to run out of good disks. Good video! It's simple but explains everything pretty well.

Which models work with a pc? Gotek website lists models for musical instruments and industrial usage. I’m interested in transferring old 3-1/2 (and possibly 5-1/4) disk based programs for use with this device to USB. Do I need a specific model of Gotek disk emulator to do that?

Do you have a GoTek floppy emulator? No. Do you know how to use it? Yes. Did you watch the video? Yes.

I use a Roland sound brush midi floppy disk player SB-55 with a Roland Sound Canvas SC 155. After 30 years, my disk drive is having problems and I am getting error messages. I am going to have a replace with the emulator USB. I have a few hundred midi disk files with songs labeled various ways. how do I upload or bring up a specific disk with specific songs on it? I did not receive instructions with the emulator. How do you use it with the emulator and we’re can I find instructions how to use it besides your video?

Just received Gotex for Yamaha, I have a HS8 1980s organ, where to start? I do have 2 Floppy machines and cables but having problems, all my floppys are empty some how, I threw them in the bin, I do have some new ones that work, but OH so slow system compared with todays stuff. My very first computer was a MicroBee 128K, was before the internet and mobile phones even! Where to start?

i couldnt figure out why batch manage tool v1.40, was giving me this error "the system cannot find the path specified". found out that only happens if you try to use floppy disk number 000, if you use any other floppy disc, the error doesnt happen. i hope this saves some frustrations for anyone else.

I think there should come a 2.0 version. This device has 3 serious problems: 1 it shows a number. I want it to show a filename of the active disk. 2) it uses an USB stick, which get lost, like SD cards. NO STICKS, NO SD CARDS. We want either a NAS mode with ethernet/wifi, or a USB-mode where it can run as external drive on your PC. 3) it works with FAT16 sticks. We want full UTF names, as many of non-PC floppy systems had much richer file name possibilities. It sucks to have a disk with 16 characters upper/lower case combined and some special chars as well, show up on your computer as GAMES_1.DSK.

Do I use an individual USB for each floppy disk with songs that I have?

No, it’s a file per floppy. He glosses over the details here.

@@MrTspike67 Sorry to bring an old post back from the dead but what program are you using to get the CNC programs on the USB?
@MrTspike67 Жыл бұрын
@@SlacKerz82 Ah. Good question. Let me think... I have one of the usb floppy drives in the CNC machine, and I have one in my old, old workstation. I believe I can access the usb as a floppy drive (by mounting the floppy # with the led selector -- this gives me access to the current floppy as a: and lets me copy to it). I also think that after formatting the usb for use in the usb floppy emulator then unplugging from the emulator and plugging into a standard usb port, (I think) I can copy files into the folder designated for a floppy. The formatting software creates 100 emulated floppy disk on each usb drive.

We're are trying to use a Miditemp with a Gotek USB Floppy Disk Emulator. Now we have two problems: 1) We can't connect the Gotek in the proper way. We tried all possible solutions and variations with jumpers, flatcable or config files. Miditemp doesn't recognize the Gotek. 2) Even if the Gotek displays the correct number of images of floppy disks on the 4GB USB stick, Miditemp doesn't see the midi files in those images. Not sure what software (Windows 10) to us for making images and putting files in those images. Can anyone help us with (step by step) instructions, software, links or whatever? Thanks.
