MAFIA CHEATNINJA I have been testing it and to be honest, it’s really hit and miss. I have only been able to capture one reasonable image out of it. I will do some more, but it’s not looking good. I tested night cap app as well and it takes some good shots. So far the camera app is the best. Looking forward to seeing what RAW will do.

Shayne, thank you so much for producing these videos! I am a yank from International Falls, Minnesota U.S.A. Even though I live on the opposite side of the world from you I was in your neck of the woods at one point in my life. Not only is Australia a beautiful country, but the people were absolutely amazing! Thanks again, I have a 12 pro max and am just learning it.

@@ShayneMostyn oh it is. Can almost see the Milky Way with the naked eye. I did watch this to see any tips. I did figure light needed to be used to amplify the night mode. It wasn’t until I looked at my picture through my moon room with light from my radio. I saw the orange gas cloud was something I saw. Though it was noise or issues with the camera. I do plan to try and go out there, again. Only with telescopes. It’s a crazy place. By day has sculptures and other things. But night time can see things faintly. One being the Orion Nebula. Can barely see it. The town is a magnet for astronomy.

Just switched from s20 ultra to 12pro max and this is by far the feature I’ll miss the most. I take many astro photos and the Samsung did an absolutely amazing job. I even stopped taking my DSLR because the phone did just as a good oh a job. My new iPhone doesn’t even get close to that sadly
@ShayneMostyn4 жыл бұрын
Im not sure that any manufacturer makes the "perfect phone" at this stage. I really like the S20 camera capabilities, but not the actual phone and the bloatware that comes with Samsungs. I really like the Pixel phone and night camera, but the video is below par. If Apple had full manual control on its camera, it would be the closest thing to perfect I think.

@@Mistygio I just used cortex cam for some astrophotography and the user interface isn’t something I’d like to use. The ability to choose how many frames are in the picture is neat but doesn’t work with the stars because you get star trails too easily. I did do some pictures while the sun was still open and when I had it set for 99 frames I got a very focused picture and no noise so maybe use cortex for well lit pictures and use a tripod. For astrophotography I’d stick with NightCap and if you have the new iPhone use the main camera as its very good.

It will depend on how many Mac products you have. I have found getting images off my S21U a pain with my mac gear. The camera is better on the S21U, but photography apps are seriously lacking on the Android platform. Things like long exposure are just not near the level of the iPhone. However, If I were you, I would wait another month. By then, I suspect the iPhone 13 series will be launched.
