Going downhill in a tractor trailer can seem intimidating, but it doesn't have to be that way! This video covers the Jake Brake System extensively, which is sometimes confusing or overwhelming for newer operators. The video being by explaining the basics of the jakes, the benefits and drawbacks, a strategy for using them and then offers an example in the beautiful Ozark Hills using the AACAA technique on a Freightliner truck. I leave mine on all of time saves the rest of the brakes also remember how heavy and how long the hill is and just because you can go faster doesn't mean it's safe because let's face it there's plenty of traffic around most of the time

Great feedback James, absolutely when we are in winding hills with quick descents and climbs it is often good to leave the jakes in the second position and simply accelerate to override them as you make those ups and downs, really solid insights. I have found that in those longer more predictable hills, adding the cruise helps drive endurance and creates better efficiency and efficiency is our second priority 😎🙏🏻 Thanks for reaching out !
