The last piece of advice is so true - if you’re in a large group only one person should go into the locker area. Especially at the Harry Potter / Hagrid rides where the locker areas are exceptionally small.

Another trick we were told by a locker attendant: after placing your stuff in the locker and closing it again, scan your ticket to make sure your locker reopens. After we got off Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, we scanned our ticket and a new locker opened not the one with our stuff. The attendant told us that our original locker didn't register as being used so it opened for another party. Thank goodness they were honest and told the locker attendant. My husband's wallet was in there!

Always good to be reminded about lockers, though I think it's a bit naughty to charge for the ones on the water rides.

Great tips , especially the one where only one person needs to go to the lockers. Don’t have to have the whole family with strollers in the locker areas lol. I will add this tip, your park pass, hotel room express pass card, and your photopass card, all three will open the free lockers. You must remember which card you scanned when reserving the locker or it will just open another locker/ reserve one.

One time I accidentally scanned my hotel room key (express pass) to rent a locker without realizing it. I went back and tried scanning my annual pass and no locker opened. I was a little nervous until I realized what happened. So, if you carry both on your lanyard, just pay attention to which one you scan, because apparently they both work.

The locker system at Velocicoaster is by far the best. Makes sense, since it has to be the best ride i've been on in Orlando, or anywhere, for that matter. They should use the dual sided lockers more often. It cuts back on traffic a lot. Compare that to the Hulk, for instance, which is constantly cluttered from people getting off the ride and rushing to the lockers. I've seen people almost get into fights there lol. On another note, they should really replace Rip Ride Rockit.. That is not near as intense as Velocicoaster but bangs you around so much, regardless of your seating. My girlfriend and I had to go lay in that grassy area outside of the theater for 25 minutes afterwards because we felt sick. Universal Studios needs a great coaster, but that ride is a disaster. I hope they cut their losses & don't extend its life like they did with Hulk and Mummy.

I understand you can’t bring any bags on the metal detector coasters and only a 3 prong Fanny pack is allowed on the handful of rides that have the free lockers by them, but what about all of the other rides? Can you bring a crossbody bag or small backpack on those?

The Popeye water ride on some of the floats they have a little storage area that has a plastic cover to store items and if you get on one with out a storage area they have a little compartment area right as your getting on the ride.

1) I am staying at a premium hotel that gives you an express lane ticket. Do the these tickets have magnetic strip that can't go through metal detectors? Or do they use a bar code? I assume I can use this hotel-provided ticket for the locker... CORRECT? 2) On rides without metal detectors can you stick your phone in your pants pocket?
