I see a couple people are giving you a hard time for your delivery, but NO ONE is criticizing the content because you are doing a great job! The fact that you have written transcripts and audio podcast type versions of these videos is above and beyond and perfect for this world where you learn what you can when you can with what you have available.

This is all new to me, not a trivial thing you would stumble over in the course of exploring Cubasis. Thanks for putting the lesson together, and I will re-run it and give it a shot. Take care. [Edit: This is a first, I went away and followed your guide here, rerunning it step by step, and flipping over to Cub3, did a sample set filling the 3 octaves laid out on my irig keys 37 controller/keyboard! This is quite satisfying. My sampling was of a synth sound, with 2 ‘grace’ notes running into the main note as it were, so A,B then resting on C for a short time. This slightly oddball thing, is what sampling is really good at, and as you demonstrated how to record as well, I will in due course pick up my Squier Strat and try some awkward string-bending or something, having the best version of that easily invoked, is a real sample strength, again. Plus, I added in an effect to my ‘grace’ sampled instrument I created, so it was not just a straight copy of the synth sounds. Lastly, having a shot at this, does demonstrate to produce a decent sample requires diligence and uniformity. I get why samples done by a person with some experience, makes a difference. Again, thank you.].

Oh yes I miss this whole app a lot, was running it on S20 Ultra, but had swapped for S24+ and Caustic is no more available for this model. I had to keep the S20Ultra so I can continue with some of my projects. Caustic was in fact absolutely greatest "Daw" on Android, as it is literally one click to any instrument / mixer / edit, 1000 x faster than any of competition. I would never change, but had to - currently in a fight with Cubasis on Android.)))

Great tutorial! very clear and to the point. Subscribed! hey, is there a way to import this Cubasis instruments into Cubase12? I´ve been creating my own instruments in Cubasis 3.5,but then, when I import them to CUBASE 12, there are just *.cbi files that are not imported... just occupying space in a track and hard drive... So I have to import the frozen files too and then, if I want to modify or add, I have to do again the instrument in cubase...

@MobileMusicPro
@MobileMusicPro 4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the MiniSampler currently only supports one sample per key and no there is no auto key detection you'll have to always select which key you'd like your samples to be on. It really is a pretty basic sampler but as I said it can be good for the average or novice person but someone of your knowledge caliber is certainly better off sticking with something more advanced like BM3 :)

This is why I don't use a DAW but a real workstation keyboard for this type of job. I would expect you can use velocity dependent sample data with the right DAW and plug in but I can do it easier outside a DAW. I use the DAW to define the track. Bring the MIDI file into my workstation keyboard and reassign the patch to the instrument sampled into the keyboard and record the audio on the keyboard instead.

 @MobileMusicPro I am making some instruments in BM3 right now, do you mean they have support for multiple samples per key? That would be awesome for pianos etc. I don't use Cubasis, just wondering if it's posible to make sample based instruments like in BM3 so I can transform my banks in the future. Thanks for the tutorial! 🙂

Thanks for this video. I use this often to play GarageBand instruments in Cubasis. My question is are there any AU3 samplers with this functionality as I want to play live and have been setting up CamelotPro to load up my AU3s per song and change my patches. I had a play with EG Pulse and Koala but they don’t seem to allow me to map individual samples to keyboard ranges like we can in minisampler, they just automatically map across but the sample shortens as you pitch higher which suggests the apps are just speeding up one sample. Do you have any advice. Have you tried Samplist or Flip Sampler or EG Segments?
@MobileMusicPro
@MobileMusicPro 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Nick! Unfortunately there's no sampler on iOS currently that will not slow down or speed up your samples, you'd have to use multiple one-shots in multiple key ranges to really get a great sound all the way across they keyboard, however most of the time this is not a bad thing as many times folks don't need a full keyboard range of notes when using one-shots. There are however a few great auv3 samplers that do allow you to place a sample anywhere on the keyboard including audiolayer and chameleon.
@nickfoard7139
@nickfoard7139 Жыл бұрын
@@MobileMusicPro great feedback as always. I don't mind assigning multiple samples up the keyboard range. I do it in Cubasis all the time so I can play GarageBand instruments in Cubasis or sample my Korg Kross 2 onboard sounds into Cubasis so if my Korg fails at the gig, ipad to the rescue. I'll check out those two you mentioned. If they have the multi sample key range functionality of Cubasis miniSampler then we are golden!

@@MobileMusicPro I went for Chameleon in the end and it's perfect. I exported an audio file from GB, chopped it up and exported as separate files in Cubasis then mapped all the samples in Chameleon. I now have CamelotPro hosting it as an AU3 at the right scene in my set. Perfect. Thanks for the tip.

Do you know if there is a way to extract your samples from a .cbi mini sampler instrument? After creating my instrument I deleted the OG samples to save space and now I want to use these samples with a different DAW. I was hoping it would be something simple like rename the file with a zip extension like some other presets. I know I can edit the instrument and select each note and re-save the sample but this would take forever to complete. Any ideas?
@MobileMusicPro
@MobileMusicPro Жыл бұрын
Apologies but I'm not aware of any way to extract the samples out of the cbi files, however you can always check your Trash folder in the Cubasis 3 folder and your Recently Deleted folder in the files app to see if you can recover your samples from there.
@adriellightvale8140

@MobileMusicPro

To have more fidelity. The more notes you have the smoother the transition of sound up the octaves. The less that the sampler has to "fill in" the more natural the sound.

Well you'd first use an analyzer app like 4pockets analyzer to detect what octave the c note is on like C2 or C3, and then use the mini sampler to drag that sample onto the appropriate c note, and then do just like I did in the video, drag it out to the full keyboard.

Hello, to plug an external hardware synth into your ipad you will need an external audio interface. If the hardware synth supports usb you should be able to connect via a usb hub connected to your ipad. But if you want to hook up external speakers you'll certainly need an external audio interface anyway.

Even though started more than 2 decades ago, went from Acid, PT, Cubase/Nuendo, Logic, Reaper I have extremely hard time with workflow here in Cubasis, despite the part of the architecture is something I am familiar with, unfortunately some steps seem counterintuitive, some are organized into guess quest somehow emphasized by the whole description tree where the access to instrument is same as access to presets, not differentiated in any way visually, or by font or anything. Its one big mess. I can not simply understand it, although not idiot, I feel like I lost 50% of my IQ points every single step, while time ticks. Never been so frustrated. As said - I was able to "catch and master" all DAW's mentioned, this time I will most probably part with this software Nemesis, as sure many get Cubasis in a flash, having no problems with operation of this application.
