Well 2hr 40min and I no longer need to use the code any longer, only because I retired from the Electrical Field, but I still like to be current. Like everyone else some things I agree with and others I don't, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the video, thanks Ryan for your time and knowledge...

Definitely subscribed, You said NEC does not cover service drops so when an inspector told me the S. drop was too low and had to be a certain height it was not NEC related ? EVERY MAN NEEDS A CODE - You damn right !

As always Mr. Jackson this was a very detailed and good one. Can I make one suggestion, the front cover of the book has a ton of information. Especially everything under the IMPORTANT NOTICES AND DISCLAIMERS CONCERNING NFPA STANDARDS. That information is crucial and many of my students are blown back by the information especially the part where the NEC makes no guarantee of the accuracy of the information in the code. Also, there was a verbiage change that was not highlighted.

40:36 I think he means to say it's not layed out in a manner that is intuitive to him naturally. That just means he needs to learn the structure since it isn't immediately obvious to him. Personally, to understand the structure, I just looked at the table of contents and the numbering system and that's gotten my by for years... but I'm still watching, so maybe I'll pick up on something I've been missing and didn't even know.

It may be logical - but could use a bit more consistency - Like the . 10 .12 .30 Etc... However these .xx should be the same in all articles - and there should be a bit more KISS priciple - One that comes to mind is 220.12 (in the 2020) the same amount of time, effort and print space they took to write the notes...They could have just put those occupancies above in the table ;) IMHO🤔

"How to use the NEC" How the NEC uses you? There are 292, 780 licensed electricians in America and probably that many who are unlicensed. The 2023 NFPA-70, sold by them, costs $145 making them, before expenses, $42,453,100. Divided by 3 and they're makin $14,151,033 annually. This is for the NEC code book. Other publications sold by the NFPA to explain the ambiguities in the book. The NFPA also publishes 5 fire and safety related code books costing $230 every three years bringing in at least 5 times as much as the NEC? That's close to $100,000,000 annually. The NFPA employs 600 people!!

Sorry, Ryan, but they did change 300.5(D) in 2023, but at least (D)(3) stayed the same. Now they say "Conductors" instead of "Direct buried conductors," so direct buried is deleted. I wonder if that now means we now have to put a warning ribbon above a raceway as 1:33:40 speaks on in the video.
