Thank you for this video. Today was my first day injecting this new medication and I was really scared specially after reading the side effects and looking at the injection being so big. But with your video I felt secure taking it. I hope this medication helps me.

Just used it for the first time. No one told me the needle on this thing was so massive compared to Byetta, so I bled like a pig from my stomach area lol. But having said that, I do remain very hopeful, as this medicine is supposed to work even better than Byetta, and I lost 30kg on it already. Thank you for the demo! :)

For those unable to read the instructions included in the box, this video may be useful. If you are continually experiencing bleeding, you are not doing it correctly and next time you're at the Dr, ask for injection advice. Any 'bleeding' should be minimal if at all. The needle is not 'big' as commented on, merely the size needed to penetrate the skin properly.

Thanks for the video Dr., I've been using Bydureon for about 1 month. Every part of my body that I injected has become very hard and uncomfortable. I thought it would get better with time, but all the places feel the same. What should I Do?
@TheOakwoodSurgeryDoncaster3 жыл бұрын
Hi David. Try to make sure you inject at 90degrees to the skin and get in deep. Let the injection finish delivery before you withdraw

@@TheOakwoodSurgeryDoncaster My daughter is a Register nurse and she is the one doing it. I got bumps all over the place. I did some research and I found out that is one side effect of that medication. Thanks so much for your feedback. You are very kind.

he forgot to mention another side effect is cancerous thyroid tumors, In animal studies, Bydureon caused thyroid tumors. However, very high doses are used in animal studies. It is not known whether these effects would occur in people using doses recommended for human use. .

Where is the least painful injection site? I am currently using my "tummy" and sometimes it stings or burns (was told it was still cold from fridge)
@TheOakwoodSurgeryDoncaster6 жыл бұрын
Hi Kiwi Jello. It's hard to say, as people are different. There's a new pen device coming out soon for Bydureon which might help you find new and interesting injection sites! Watch this space!...

I tried on the top of my thigh, was a little better, but still stings even after letting it come to room temperature. It's pretty much a moot point now, however. I am having weight loss surgery next month and hope to be off meds soon after. Hopefully, I won't have to inject ever again. Thanks for the reply!

Kiwi Jello hi I was told by my doctor if it was in the fridge to let it sit out about 15 minutes flat. Then mix and immediately give injection . I learned from experience that the 15 Seconds the instructions says to hold the medication in place is plenty of time. I tried it longer and had knots at the site. I use my tummy because it’s more meaty lol. I don’t use my thighs because it had it swollen with knots for 2 months. Hope this helps.

I've been using Victoza since 2011 when i developed type 2 Diabetes. Also I have Thyroid Disease, (hashimotos disease). My new Dr. switched me over yesterday to Bydureon. Is there any difference in the risk of developing thyroid cancer? Or are they about equal?

The bydureon pen for me is helping bring my sugar numbers down but the sites where I inject on my legs have knots Left 4 weeks nobody told me that would happen and it scared me for a while until I had a pharmacist tell me that they used it and it done the same thing to her the knots last anywhere from three to four weeks after I take that shot has anyone else had the same problem?

I'm having a problem where the liquid is coming out from the needle while I'm twisting the bottom to get the button to pop. Is there a proper time to put the needle on? Most of my solution is squirting out before I can inject.

Missy WondersWhy I have been on it for 2 months . That means 8 injections. Before I started my weight was 240 now I’m down to 225. With no exercise due to other medical reason . So with exercise and eating right you will see the weight drop of quickly.

Been using this for a little while now but I'm finding after mixing, that banging hurts the hand after a while!, when I twist the end to get the plunger out a lot of the mixture comes out of the needle. Is that normal or does it mean I'm not getting the full dose?
@TheOakwoodSurgeryDoncaster6 жыл бұрын
Hi Bondidog. It shouldn't leak a lot. However, a new (easier) device is on they way! Ask your clinician if it's available in your area.
@Bondidog6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that. I'm not sure whether I've stumbled across a possible solution but since I posted the question I have been leaving the cap on the needle until after I've exposed the plunger. Whether it is imagination or not I don't know but there does not seem to be the same volume of liquid in the cap as when I I remove the cap before exposing the plunger. I will ask my doctor about the new device.

Dr Eggit I just started taking the bydureon but I wanted to know is there any other ways of taking it because the pens needle is short and thick and everytime I take it and pull the pen out of the injection site blood comes out. Not alot but the size of a nickel. Im tired of losing blood.
@TheOakwoodSurgeryDoncaster7 жыл бұрын
Are you using the Bydureon that comes in a pen or in a seperate vial Dubcity05?
@Dubcity057 жыл бұрын
The pen. I dont really bleed anymore but whenever I inject the bydureon and pull the need out of the injection site a majority of the bydureon seems to leak out. Anything I can do to stop that from happening?
@TheOakwoodSurgeryDoncaster7 жыл бұрын
After depressing the plunger dont forget to wait 10 seconds for the solution to come out of the pen Dubcity05. When you pull the needle out, pull out slowly. That should do the trick. Dr D

I’ve been on bydureon now for about 2 years. Yes the needle hurts some but the pain doesn’t last long. If you hold some pressure to the site the bleeding stops after a few seconds. I’ve been counting carbs now and have lost from 188# to 161# in about 3 months and feel much better. Just give it some time and you’ll start feeling better. Any questions text me.

I use Bydureon BCise . Is it normal to have a little meditation left in the syringe? Also , after the injection does a little of the medication suppose to leak? Is headaches a side effect? Since I have been using it I have been have chronic headaches. The ones that sends me to the ER. It only lasts 2 days after the injection. Thanks for responding.
@TheOakwoodSurgeryDoncaster6 жыл бұрын
Hi Lolita Taylor. It's not usually possible to always expel everything from a syringe, so a very small amount left over is usual. I wouldnt expect any leakage after injection but headaches are a potential side effect. It might help to ask your own physician to check you over regarding your headache. I can't give advice here, sorry!
