How to use theory in essays & assignments in social science

In this video, you will learn how to use a theory to ease your discomfort, start working on your project, and finish on time.
I assume you need a theory for a project, just like a plumber needs a wrench. A plumber picks the tool depending on the job.
Likewise, you start by reflecting on the data you plan to collect or use.
Step 1: Review the classes you attended and browse your lecture notes and relevant parts of the course literature.
Step 2: Look for theories and concepts in new and relevant scientific articles and dissertations.
Step 3: Pick a theory that you understand, with a sound worldview, and that you anticipate you can use to discuss your data.
Step 4: Use the theory you picked in the planning phase, for example, to create interview questions.
Step 5: When you collected or received your data, apply the theory again to discuss these findings. For example, discuss how some results follow the theory while others diverge from it. Remember, no one expects the student to be a theoretical expert. Instead, the main thing is that you find and use a theory. Tell the reader about it, why you picked it, and use it to the best of your ability to plan your study and discuss your results.
