How To Use Windows Defender In Windows 10 To Remove Malware 🤓Defender Setting Tutorial 🧐

Windows Defender is Microsoft's security and threat detection software that is built into Windows 10. This is a great tool that is rarely utilized and is completely free with the Windows 10 operating system. To use this tool you will need to go into your settings and make sure that Windows Defender is on and up to date.
Begin by navigating to the start menu on your desktop screen. Click on the settings button on the start menu and select "Update and Security" from the list of options under Windows Settings. Here you will find Windows Defender.
Open Windows defender and you will be able to see the status of your computer, your security history and you will be able to scan your computer for any infections. You will need to make sure that Windows Defender is turned on and all of the definitions are up to date.
Once that is done simply select "Full Scan" form the list of options and press the "Scan Now" button. This scan could take some time to finish so make sure that you start this scan when you do not need your computer for anything important.
Once this scan is done you will see a list of all malware that is hidden on your computer and you can make sure to delete it.

Got a new win 10 pc. Does the Defender warn me with an icon. On win7 I could see a green icon on the bottom of the screen that told me that it was ok, it it wasnt it was orange or red and it was easy to watch. I got windows defender to take action on multiple severe trojans, I cleared most of my computer, I even check for viruses twice every day. I do not know what to do to stop these trojans from attacking anymore. More and more apparent over time. Windows tells me I have a virus randomly even when I do not download things. People say it's a 'false positive' but it is actually dealing damage to my computer making it run slightly slower over time. I am not sure what a fresh install of windows is... Running windows defender should remove it. If you are still concerned about it running I would recommend using Malware Bytes to do a secondary scan of your PC and that should be a good extra review!

Hermanrud I would look to change your passwords and if possible setup multi factor authentication. That second factor goes a long ways to preventing your secure accounts from being cracked into.

That happened to me too, its a bit complicated because i got 3 trojans, when i ran the .exe. What i did was simply go to cmd (as admin) and type taskkill /F /im(process name).exe. *This was to stop the processes from running* Then i cleared the infected files and scan with an antivirus. I dont know if you resolved this as im writting this *im sure that you did* but a week earlier i had 6 trojans (Two of them were bitcoinerminers). That was because i didnt checked the system files, but if you have a good anti-malware (like malwarebytes) you should be fine.

Hello. In my "Protection History", there is a file which has Trojan Horse which I download by mistakely from a wrong website, but when I go to my downloads folder, it is not there. If you format all of your drives, deleting everything on it, all malware will of course then also be gone. But then you have to reinstall a clean operating system from a disk or drive from scratch. If you don't mind losing all of your files or you save them somewhere without the virus sneeking in with it then you'll be just fine.

It installs malwarebytes for the mean time and then remove it later.. In malwarebytes as I am waiting for the system to finish doing its work, I scanned my pc and found 80+ malwares, trojans and stuff and quarantined them and removed them then I tried looking for windows security. I found stuff that I allowed to run in my pc probably where the problem comes from and stopped allowing all these. And then I run windows defender offline.. As it restarts my pc, the problem is gone 😭😭😭 I'm crying... Don't know if there's still fragments of those malware and trojan still left in my pc though... I'm trying to run a full scan now with my working again windows security

Sounds like something is pretty broken. I might try downloading the latest feature update from Microsoft and or using a paid AV solution. Defender isn't the right tool every time.

Mines doesn't look like that and WINDOWS DEFENDER OFFLINE REFUSES TO SCAN I used a fake Microsoft number when I first got my computer I know they went inside my computer I wonder do I have a fake window defender anti virus

What version of Windows are you using? That will play into what Defender looks like. Also it's changed some since we made this video as the feature releases from Microsoft have changed it. Regarding using a fake key for Microsoft I would recommend purchasing a legit version of Windows from maybe amazon and then reinstall after backing up your files and applications.

Hi Tupac it sounds like you got a drive by malware infection. Microsoft won't ever pop up a 1800 number for you to call. That is a straight up scam. I'd try this video and see if it helps. kzbin.info?o=U&video_id=L6BYRrabYfg (in full disclosure it's a little bit old so things might have changed)

@@heroisbanned2 I would look at seeing if you can find that PUP in control panel and manually uninstalling it that way. Or potentially reset your browser removing all plugins etc.

Hi try running defender in safe mode or you can also try downloading malware bytes and run that in safe mode as well. I would also consider resetting your PC to default if it gets to bad.

Depending on the feature update version your on it could be called windows security.

So a big part of why it is so slow is likely because you are running 3 AntiVirus applications. You should not run more then 1 actual AV software and then maybe 1 support malware type application.

Great question. We use Sophos interceptx for our clients but it is a paid solution. Most free AV are pretty decent now days to be honest.
