Thank you for this video. It's very helpful. I have noticed that if the wifi launcher is ready before the car headunit starts listening, it doesn't connect. I have to restart the wifi launcher before it connects to the headunit. Any tips on that?

@Frank, thank you. Try setting startup apps from permissions in settings to automatically launch HUR when the system turns on. If that doesn't work, download "car launcher" or "automate" and select HUR as startup app.

Thank you man,you helped me really Out...best explanation video I have seen for Android auto without cable. For all people they are struggling by installation I downloaded a modded headunit reloaded APK file for free,searching via Google(version 7.2) install only on the headunit (follow the instructions in the video,step by step) Wifi launcher they newest version via playstore didn't work out for me....again searching in Google and downloaded wifi launcher(version 3.6.5) followed the instructions in the video.... And now I can entry my car ,start the engine and everything is start automatically and I can enjoy my Spotify use maps without cabe🎉 Thank you very much for this video🤓👍

Hello, great video. Can you please tall what launcher are you using on your multimedia(or is it stock) and how can I keep my hotspot running on always, because every time I turn my car of or disconnect android auto, hotspot turns off. Thank you in advance.

I use the "car launcher" app by apps lab studio. The free version on playstore is good enough. I don't think you'll want your headunit to always have a hotspot on because it will drain your battery. If you're using the updated version of headunit reloaded, you can use your phone's Hotspot instead

I have a question I see a unit with TS9 processor without Carplay and Android Auto for 80 dollars. And then there is a version with wireless Carplay and Android Auto for 110. Do you think it's worth paying the extra? Or one can do it themselves? Is the method in preloaded android head units with AndroidAuto by the, better than this method? I use Android Phone. My concern is whether after any small update the feature will get broken anyway even if I get 110 dollar version of it.

I think it's better to pay the extra for the preloaded version because even if the preloaded AA fails at some point, you have this method to fall back on. Again, in case someone with an iPhone borrowed your car at some point, they can also use carplay. But check the reviews of the product first to make sure it really has wireless AA and Carplay.

hi i purchase the app and i try wired method but when i plug the type c cable into my Samsung a34 (android 14) the phone shows that android auto is connected and headunit reloaded recognize the phone in usb settings but nothing happens its stays on HUR screen : (( please help

You should tap on the phone to select it when it shows up in the USB settings. Try that, and if it doesn't work, I'll look into the issue

For now, this is the only app I know that can give you wireless android auto on your headunit. You can check websites like apk4all.io and download the mod apk version for free.

I suggest you check the android auto settings on your phone. Some of those things can be manipulated there.

Its honestly ridiculously stupid that they did not make this thing with the capabilities that a Bluetooth speaker has..... It's literally a receiver smaller than a penny with a left and a right or red and white wire coming off of it in a ground running to the input part portion of a board that then goes to the power amp and then speakers stupid that they don't have it just so simple that you can just connect and bam there you go

Great video, although I can't seem to get it working. I followed all your steps but it's defaulting to the Tlink app which I seen on your previous comments doesn't support the cool walk update. Do you need to make your phone a hot-spot as well as the android head unit? What relevance is that WiFi Launcher app? I clicked the listening tab on HUR app and it made no difference, what am I doing wrong. I just can't seem to get to working. Any ideas please?

Hi Jamil, Sometimes, you may need to restart your apps after setting everything up. The Hotspot is only on the headunit and you have to connect the phone's wifi to it. Then the WiFi launcher app connects the phone to the headunit once it's in the listening mode. If you're connected to the wifi and it's not working, look for "advanced" at the bottom in the Wifi launcher app>enable >"add force connect button">pull down notifications >stop wifi launcher>reopen the wifi launcher, and it should connect, if not, draw down notifications and tap on "force connect".

Quite strange. I'm not sure what's going on with it, but under normal circumstances, once your phone connects to the car's Bluetooth. How about closing wifi launcher and removing it from recent apps, and restarting the app? Or perhaps restart the phone?

No. You don't have to uninstall the app. You should just close it and clear your recent apps. Betterstill, you can achieve a similar result by restarting your phone

Try clearing the app data (long press app->select details->storage->clear data). If it's still crashing, it might be headunit incompatibility or a conflicting app, or permissions may not have been granted.

@Ajesh Mani, you don't have to install headunit reloaded on your phone. It should be installed on the android radio, which will most likely be android 11 or lower. The app you would need for the phone is "wifi launcher" and it's running fine on my android 13 phone. So try installing HUR on your stereo rather, and let me know how it goes. Cheers!

@Ajesh Mani, if you followed all the instructions in the video and it's not working, close HUR on the radio and open it again, it should work. I'm going over the instructions: Download "wifi launcher" on your phone->create wifi Hotspot on your radio->connect your phone to the radio's Hotspot->open wifi launcher on phone->scroll to the bottom and tap on advanced options->enable force connect button->tap on start service manually->in your drop-down notifications, you'll see wifi launcher, expand it and tap on "force connect", while HUR is listening for incoming connections, and it should work. Once you get it to work the first time, it easily connects subsequently. Let me know how it goes.
