Hey there. We're glad to see you're interested in learning more about us, and happy holidays to you too, of course 🎆 So after opening an account with us, you'd indeed have the option to add funds to one of your balances. Keep in mind however that you can only directly add PHP to a balance if you're based in the Philippines yourself, and the same goes for customers in Malaysia but with MYR. For more info on how you can top up a balance, go here: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances - and to learn more about which currencies you can add, hold, and receive into your account with us, click here: wi.se/balancecurrencies From there on out, you'd indeed have the possibility to withdraw funds from ATMs in the Philippines by using the debit card. The applicable withdrawal limits depend on your registered address, and the monthly withdrawal limit for customers based in Malaysia is 23,000 MYR, and in case you're situated in the Philippines then it's 275,000 PHP. When it comes to the fees you pay when withdrawing money, then please note that you get a free withdrawal allowance along with 2 free withdrawals each calendar month. After that you'll pay a fixed fee per withdrawal. When it comes to the minimum amount you'd be able to withdraw, then please bear in mind that this would depend on the ATM provider. To learn more about withdrawal limits, go here: wi.se/wisedebitcardlimits - and we elaborate on withdrawal fees on our other page here: wi.se/withdrawalfees We hope this explains matters to an extent, but please feel free to PM or DM us on Facebook, Instagram, or X, if you have any other questions. We'd be happy to assist you.

How do we use a digital card? Is it scan to pay like an e-wallet app? What do you recommend for Japan and Australia? Do these countries widely accept digital scan pay from Wise or having a card is easier?
@WiseАй бұрын
Hello there. You can connect our digital card with Google wallet or Apple pay. You can use the card in Japan and Australia. Most countries accept debit cards and have terminals that can be used to pay with contactless, so should be all good. If you have any doubt, feel free to call the merchant ahead of time to ask if contactless payments are possible. We do recommend having the physical card as well, this way if the merchant doesn't accept contactless you can always use our physical card. You can learn more about digital cards here: wi.se/wisedigitalcard And more about our physical card here: wi.se/debitcardfaq Feel free to reach out via our social media private messages (Facebook, Instagram or X).

This is a very helpful video, thank you! I am Canadian and recently set up a digital Wise card and installed Wise on Apple Pay prior to a trip to Japan. Most convenience stores I visited in Japan accepted Wise and the expenses were deducted from my balance in CAD. It was very……convenient! Now my question: in 2024 I will be visiting the US, New Zealand, French Polynesia and Australia (all in one trip). I don’t think you cover French Polynesia but I presume I should set up balances for Australian dollars, New Zealand dollars and US dollars, and that it would be wise (pun intended) to transfer some money from my Canadian bank account into each of them before I leave home. But what if I overestimate what I expect to spend? After my trip, can I transfer surplus foreign currency back into Canadian dollars? In my Wise account, or in my bank account? Thank you in advance for your help. (In 2023 I converted a lot of cash to Icelandic krona, only to find that nobody in Iceland wanted cash!) in 2024 I will be Wiser!!! 😅
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hi there, Gerarda, it sounds like you have an amazing 2024 planned, already! Just like your physical card, the digital card lets you spend money around the world with low conversion fees, securely. You can pay with your Wise card in most places where debit cards are accepted: wi.se/whereyoucanuseyourcard and our card allows you to keep and spend multiple currencies. Simply use the card, and we’ll convert the amount automatically for you, from any currency you hold in your balances, for a low fee: wi.se/smartconversiontech So in this case, it would be wise to create balances for the available currencies, as this ensure you're using the appropriate balances when using your card. If you find that you have surplus foreign currency, you can certainly convert this back to CAD balance on your Wise account, once you return home. Here's a little more info on how to convert between balances: wi.se/moneyconversion You can also send this to your external bank account if you'd prefer. Here's some info on that: wi.se/sendfrombalance Please feel free to reach out to us over on social media for more help. I’ve been using my WISE card for quite sometime and I love it… but have a question. When I travel overseas, I’ve already converted my at home funds into the currency of my destination. When I use my WISE card in restaurants and grocery stores to either ‘tap and go’ or by inserting the card and using my PIN, which method is best to ensure the least amount of fees? Or… is this situation dependent on the stores fee policy? When WISE says.. ‘spend like a local’ which use of the WISE card in general spending like food and In store shopping ensures the least amount of fees charged by the store?
@Wise4 ай бұрын
Hi there! 😊 Thanks for the love! To answer your question, each merchant can have their own fees, which Wise doesn’t control, so you're completely correct about this. However, converting money beforehand into your destination's currency often ensures fewer fees, especially when the mid-market rate is favorable. We also have a smart conversion system that automatically converts your money at the real exchange rate, so you’re always getting the best deal, even if you don't pre-convert. You can learn more about this here: wi.se/moneyconversion Hope that helps, and happy spending like a local. Carlos, you can always spend like a local using Wise - You don't necessarily need to open a balance in the local currency for that, but if you do, we'll charge the amount from there. If I have put foreign exchange into my account for eg Japanese Yen when I am in Japan will the card automatically use this currency from the amount held in the Japanese yen account or do I need to select the currency ?
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hi, Tom. To answer your question, Wise has this technology that checks whether you have the currency you need to avoid fees. So for example, if you have a JPY currency on your account, and you're using your Wise card in Japan, then our system will automatically deduct it from your JPY balance, no need to manually select the currency. In addition, even if you don’t have it in your account, you can still spend money. Our Smart Conversion technology will automatically convert the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee. We've covered this here: wi.se/smartconversiontech But if travelling abroad, it's indeed recommended converting to the currencies you need within Wise before spending. We hope this helps, and let us know if you have clarifications 😊

I have different currency balance on my WISE card. How can I choose which one to pay from my digital card?
@Wise22 күн бұрын
Hey judy! Our card uses a Smart Conversion technology, how this works is that if you have multiple currencies in your account, the card will take the same currency of the transaction, for example if you have USD and EUR, and you're paying for something in a place that takes EUR, that's the balance where it'll take the money from. If you don't have the currency in your account, it automatically converts the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee. In case the currencies that you hold in your account have the same conversion fees, we'll use the one with the best exchange rate, so you get the most for your money. Learn more about this here: wi.se/smartconversiontech If you have any questions, feel free to reach out with a DM to any of our social media channels Facebook, Instagram or Twitter (X), we'll be happy to help.

Hey there. It gladdens us to see that you've joined our platform, and that you'll be travelling using the debit card! With that said, we can see where it is you're coming from, and that his may indeed seem concerning. So please take note that for the majority of our customers, that there are no separate steps that need to be taken, in order to activate the card, and that by simply making your first payment using Chip and PIN will do the trick. So to learn more about this, and activating the debit card overall, please have a look at our page here: wi.se/activate Furthermore, you'd be able to activate the card in a different country as well, meaning that it's not a requirement to activate the card in your own country. To read more about cardless ATMs, and where you may find them, please have a look at our blog here: wi.se/blog-cardless-atm And when it comes to actually using a contactless ATM abroad, please use the following steps: 1. Make sure you have a balance in the relevant country's currency topped up in your account with us, in order to pay (possibly high) conversion fees: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances 2. Activate your digital card, and link it to a mobile wallet like Apple Pay: wi.se/linkingcardtoapplepay - or Google Pay: wi.se/linkingcardtogooglepay 3. If needed, download the relevant bank's app before using the contactless ATM, in order to request the withdrawal. Furthermore, it may also be worthwhile having a look at our page here: wi.se/applepayatm - as it contains some useful info when it comes to withdrawing funds using Apple Pay. Question! If I have a digital wise card, can I order one or two physical cards (for husband and son) which are attached to the same account?
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hey, Tina 👋 You can only have one physical card at any time. Due to privacy and security reasons, if you order a Wise card - Both physical or digital, it can only be used by you. If your husband or son wants to get a card, they'll need to create their own Wise account. But note that the card will be linked to their respective balances only.

Hi, I am from Malaysia and will be travelling to Korea soon. I have wise card with me and also have my local currency account and also, KRW account. When I want to purchase things in Korea, how it works to charge from my local currency or KRW? Any special setting required or it will auto deduct from KRW account? To withdraw the money from Korea atm, preferably from my local currency or KRW currency?
@Wise3 ай бұрын
Hey there, thanks for reaching out. Great questions! As for your first one, when you swipe your card in Korea, and the merchant charges you in KRW, the money will be automatically taken from your KRW balance. If you don't have KRW in your account at the time, though, our Smart Conversion Tech will automatically convert the currency with the best rate at the time for you. More here: wi.se/smartconversiontech As for withdrawing money from the ATM, the best thing to do is to withdraw KRW if you're at an ATM in Korea, as this will keep you from being charged any extra conversion fees from the ATM itself. It's also best to choose to be charged in KRW if a merchant asks you while you're there, if you'd like to pay using your KRW balance 😊 We hope this helps, but if you have other questions, please feel free to reach us via DM on Facebook, Instagram, or X. We're happy to answer any other questions that come up.

Hey, Liz. Our Wise card isn't a credit card, it's more similar to a debit card. I plan to use Wise for the first time when I go to Thailand and Philippines this October. Can you please clarify this part for me? So if I put a balance for either country...I can use the Wise debit card to pay for purchases. Does it know automatically to take it out of the currency in the country I'm currently in? For example, if I'm in Thailand and use the debit card...does it automatically take the funds out of Thai (as long as I have a balance in it)? Same thing with atm withdrawal...does it automatically know to take out of the currency of the country I'm in? Thanks!

Hi Andy. As long as you've sufficient money in the currency you want to spend, your card will automatically deduct from the local currency. Hi, question: I am from Australia traveling to Japan. Is the aud350 limit converted to yen? So I can only withdraw the same equivalent yen for free? For the 3rd withdrawal- is the 1.75% fee charge just for above aud350 or for whatever amount of cash I’m withdrawing? Eg if I’m withdrawing aud 500, I’ll get charged 8.50? If I use the card to tap for any purchases and selecting local currency - are there other fees involved?
@Wise3 ай бұрын
Great questions, Lou. To start, let’s make sure you have the local currency in your Wise balance. If you plan to travel to Japan, it's best to convert your AUD to JPY (Yen) beforehand to avoid the smart conversion from happening at the time of your withdrawal. This'll help avoid a conversion fee at the time of purchase. You get 2 free withdrawals per calendar month, regardless of the amounts. For the third withdrawal and onward, it will have a fixed fee, and if any withdrawal goes over your monthly free limit, there will be a variable fee. All the details you need can be found here: wi.se/withdrawalfees There are no extra fees when shopping with your Wise Card. If you don’t have JPY at the time of purchase, then the card will automatically convert the money for you from any of your open balances with the lowest exchange rate. Not silly at all, we're always happy to help! But this is another thing that is mainly your preference. It would have been helpful to know that in some regions adding a card to Apple Pay is unavailable.

Hi I have a question. Does wise only work when you are PHYSICALLY at the new place? For example you are traveling from usa to uk. While planning your trip for pre booking hotels, tickets, etc. can you pay for it with preloaded currency (pounds) while in US or will it charge usd with conversion fees? Thanks
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hey, there! If you have the Wise debit card, and you have money on your balances, you can easily use it to pay for hotels or tickets as any other debit card. Check: wi.se/wise-card For your situation, in case you have money on your USD balance, you can convert to a GBP balance and use it to pay in the local currency and buy your tickets in advance. Learn more from this link: wi.se/moneyconversion Any further questions can be solved via PM on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter/X. You can also easily get in touch with us through here: wi.se/contactus We'll be happy to help you there in case anything remains unclear 🙂

Hello, I will be traveling in a few days and will be using my Wise card for the first time. I'm a bit confused about the daily limits that day they reset every 15hours. My chip-pin/digital wallet says $2000 in one go and then says daily limit $2000 to reset after 15hours, but then under a different tab it says the same thing about the one go but then has $7500 as the daily limit ? Which is correct? I plan on making a few luxury purchases and don't want to be embarrassed by my card declining, thanks!
@Wise5 ай бұрын
Hi Erin! Your spending limits will depend on your region and currency. Also, keep in mind that there are different types of limits, a monthly and a daily limit, as well as spending limits and how much you can withdraw at an ATM, which may all differ from each other. Learn more here: wi.se/wisedebitcardlimits If you'd like for our support team to look into this closely for you, please feel free to contact us here: wi.se/contactus Or DM us on X, Instagram, or Facebook. We'll be happy to help. Thanks.

Do you have service in the Czech Republic? Going to Prague later this year.
@Wise11 ай бұрын
Hey, Lori. If you want to know if you can use your Wise card when you're traveling to the Czech Republic, you can use it there 🙂 It should normally work in every place where debit cards are accepted. Depending on where your card was issued, there might be some countries where it won't work. So if you're planning to travel anywhere else, make sure to check this page: wi.se/whereyoucanuseyourcard We hope that helps, but feel free to reach out via PM/DM on our other social media channels (X, Facebook, Instagram) if you have any other questions.

Hi, Wise Digital card is amazing! I have one added to my google pay in GBP but how can I have another euro card added to my google wallet to use in Europe?
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hey, Sanchita 👋 Thanks for your kind words. Actually, to spend in another currency, you don't need to have a different card. You can open an EUR balance, add money to it and use the same card. And that's how it works: when you spend money in a currency you already have in your balances, we’ll deduct the amount for free. If you don’t have the currency in your account, we’ll automatically convert the amount for you. We’ll take it from whichever available balance has the cheapest conversion fee. So there’s no need to worry about converting money before travelling. You can also check this page for more info: wi.se/gettingstartwiththecard We hope that helps, but please let us know if you have any other questions.

@Wise What is your suggestion for those who have sole LLC in US. What are ulternative options for Wise Business card?
@Wise Жыл бұрын
The physical card isn't available, but digital cards for US businesses are available for sole traders/sole proprietorships, with no shareholders/Ultimate Business Owners (UBOs), and for any business with only 1 shareholder, where the owner of the profile is the UBO. You can check this info on the link above. For any other questions, feel free to DM us on any other of our communication channels (Facebook, X, Twitter).

Hi again, Michael! We're sorry for any confusion with our last reply. We meant to say, typically we allow digital cards for these sorts of businesses based in the US. However, while we're still having to pause card issuance for US based businesses, these cards aren't available either. Our team is working hard to bring the feature back. If you've signed up for the waitlist, we will let you know over email when you can go ahead and order your card. If you have questions, please bear in mind, KZbin isn't one of our primary support channels. Feel free to reach us over Instagram, X, or Facebook private message for quicker assistance. Thanks for clarifying that. In that case, note your Wise card is a debit card, and it should work in most places where debit cards are accepted. If you're referring to using it for subscriptions, It should work. You can find more info on about virtual card here: wi.se/wisedigitalcard. However, if you're referring to making regular payments, you also read more about our scheduling payment feature here: wi.se/schedule-transfers - since the Wise card is linked to your balances. Should have any questions on this, send us a DM on Instagram, Twitter (X), or Facebook. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via email/phone call here: wi.se/contactus.

Why can I only withdraw at an ATM in Australia and not use to shop in stores?
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hi 👋 You should certainly be able to pay in the stores as well: wi.se/whereyoucanuseyourcard. If you see the declined payment in your activities page, then by clicking on it, you should see the reason why the card didn't work. You can also check if all payments are enabled from under your card settings. If anything still comes up, we'd gladly look into this. You can email/call us: wi.se/contactus, or DM us on X/Facebook/Instagram as well with your membership number.

How do I put money to the card?

Hi there 👋 You can't directly add money to your Wise card. However, if you want to your Wise card for payments, you need to add money to your Wise balance. Add money by opening the Wise app, choosing the currency you'd like to add money to, and how much you'd like to add. Then, choose to pay using different payment methods like bank transfer or card. You can find more about it here: wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances If anything remains unclear, feel free to reach out to us via Facebook, Instagram or X. If I use my card and I have no money in my wise account , will you draw directly from my linked bank account or would the transaction decline ?
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Great questions, Ian! Our digital card can be used for either a single transaction, or multiple! You can have up to 3 digital cards at once, all with different details, and replace them as you'd like. Just keep in mind - you can only get 3 new cards per day. You can find some info here 👉 wi.se/replacedeletedigitalcard Also, the Wise card, both physical and digital, will only work with the money you have in your balances. We won't draw from your local or linked bank accounts, so you'll want to add money first. More on that here 👉 wi.se/addmoneytoyourbalances

Hello! In my account, I have an account with Dollars, Euro and Reais (account opened in Brazil). I am in United States. If I use my card, with take the dollars I already have in an account? Is the PIN number the one we use in the payments and gotten from the app of a specific card? Since I have the three currencies in my account, not sure from where the card will take the money from. I thank you for any advice and information!
@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hi, Lanfranco. We'll be glad to answer all your questions. Firstly, about the PIN, you mentioned that your account was opened in Brazil, we can confirm that it's definitely the one you use for payments, and is shown in your app from the 'Card' tab > Show PIN. Now, we understand your concern about having multiple currencies in your account, and how they're used for transactions. For context, Wise has this technology that checks whether you have the currency you need to avoid fees. So for example, if you have a USD currency on your account, and you're using your Wise card within the US, then our system will automatically deduct it from your USD balance. And even if you don’t have it in your account, you can still spend money. Our Smart Conversion technology will automatically convert the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee. We've covered this here: wi.se/smartconversiontech If travelling abroad, we'd suggest converting to the currencies you need within Wise before spending. We have some tips outlined: wi.se/aux1za We hope this helps, and let us know if you have clarifications 😊

@Wise Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Our card uses a Smart Conversion technology, this means it will take the money out of the balance that has the same currency. If you don't have the currency in your account, it automatically converts the balance for you that has the lowest conversion fee 😎 If the currencies that you hold in your account have the same conversion fees, we'll use the one with the best exchange rate, so you get the most for your money.
