Hi there! I’d just like to offer you my most sincere thanks for sharing this video with the world, well at least that portion of it that uses the Worcester Comfort II controller. I recently had the need to turn on the heating after over six months of it not being in use at all and I found the batteries had died in that time. I had to get a friend to open the control unit for me as it was far too fiddly for my arthritic fingers and then I was faced with the problem of resetting the unit. I searched everywhere for the manual but was unable to locate it so I turned to that fount of all knowledge, Google. A few seconds later and I’m watching your video. I had been dreading the prospect of yet another instructional video which I assumed would be full of things I didn’t really need to know and that it would take an age to get to the information I was actually searching for. Imagine my surprise when I began watching your clearly presented tutorial, with the focus on the unit the whole time instead of the presenter. Within a few minutes I had seen all I needed to completely reset the system and as I finish up typing this message of gratitude I can already feel the room temperature rising. I simply cannot thank you enough. 🙏

Thank you so much for this video. I find the Worcester instructions almost incomprehensible so the video has been a great help. My previous boiler was a Vaillant and the control unit was simpler to operate and the instructions were clearer.

I have one of these - I just find it too complicated and I’m worried now that it’s getting colder because I can’t get this control to do what I want. My old Worcester boiler had simple controls on the actual boiler - so much easier

Just ask your gas fitter to do it. Its easy if you just have the temp set and switch to auto or overide it and set on or off.

Thanks for explaining that the boiler acts as a combi-boiler, even when the hot water indicator says 'off'; I couldn't see this covered in the WB instruction booklet.

I've watched 2 demos by staff so far, and neither tells us how to just switch the radiators on and off rather than putting them on a timer? 🤔 This is frustrating as I just want to know how to switch my radiators on and off when I want them on and off 😒

Very helpful. Thank you. I can't understand why there are only 6 time settings, therefore 3 time slots. My old Ferroli had 16 settings meaning 8 time slots. That was probably too many but 3 is certainly not enough.

Heating company recommended this boiler to me yesterday, or rather pushed and by the end of it, my head was completely mashed. I am not a total thicko when it comes to technology but I just couldn't get my head around it. I ended up thinking, it must just be me and I will learn to use it. Accepted the quote to install this morning but after reading more about it and also people's comments on youtube, I will be cancelling my order. I do not need the stess of this. I just want a boiler with instant water and heating that I can turn on and off as I please. This certainly doesn't sound compatible with that.

I don't understand why with the Comfort II RF, you have no ON/OFF times for the heating...you effectively have to have it on from start to finish (albeit at different temperatures through the day). The Comfort I RF has clear ON/OFF periods...why can't I do this with my II RF?!?!? All I want to do is set Timer 1 from 05:00 to 06:30, and then off until Timer 2 from 17:00 to 20:00! How can this be done?

I would like to know what you have to do when you plug the receiver into the boiler how you connect the timer and when you do connect the timer to the receiver how do you get it to come on and go off and what is the life span of the batteries and can you use rechargeable batteries being a disabled pensioner all the technology is overwhelming to a lot of people and not all of them are disabled and a pensioner the old manual timers are far easier to use

Talk about making life complicated! It's a combi boiler. It'll heat up water in an instant. There's no need to have "pre heated water" stored. That's a waste of heat, energy and money plus not environmentally friendly. What a stupid function! Just turn on hot tap and wait a few seconds. Worcester, why are you making using a boiler so difficult that you need a bloody degree. All those unnecessary functions should be regulated to the thermostat not the programmer.

That's exactly my sentiment. A combi boiler heats up water on demand i.e when you turn on the hot tap the boiler kicks-in and heats up the water. Where is it stored anyway?. Do you have to have an immersion heater tank or something similar. Trying to explain this to my elderly mum is going to put us both in an early grave.

Terrible description of the central heating features. Basically this is a 24 hour temperature profile system allowing up to 6 programmable time zones set at given temperatures for that period. There is no on or off setting as such as this will depend on the temperature setting. If you want it off during the day, set the desired temperature to zero. Most working people will want a lower setting overnight, say 16C, then up to 20C when they are getting ready for work, then low or off during the day, say 10C, then back up to 20C for when they return from work until going to bed; hence four temperature time zones. The controller, however, doesn't cater for retired or non working people at home 7 days per week, for this you need to program mon-fri and sat-sun the same. The override feature allows you to jump to the next zone if you arrive early from work for example. The Wave allows you to do this remotely via an app. I guess this system is a set and forget controller with holiday override. Alternatively the lower spec unit just gives three on/off daily settings. Only concern is when the battery dies or if this unit malfunctions. This being the issue with complicated controllers is all types. The Wave needs constant wifi for example and access to an iPhone or iPad.

Hi. My comment is a bit late but honestly you deserve a medal!! Neither my heating engineer nor Worcester Bosch technical department could explain this to me, and the user manual made no reference whatsoever to this. I could not figure out why the boiler was not "turning off" when I thought it should. Thanks a million. You have saved me a lot of stress.
