On a mac there is a program call Camera Live that works with the M50 to provide a “Clean HDMI” and prevents the auto shutoff. There is also a program for Windows that does it but I don’t remember the name.

it's a great video, and very informative. Do you have any advice about the little delay on OBS when using method one? Do you have a specific kind of micro USB?
@LegendGary213 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! This video is kinda old now, Canon has released a much better way to use your camera as a webcam in OBS. It is called Canon Webcam utility which is the better way. With this utility you just use a USB to your camera and connect in OBS using the Canon Webcam utility in the drop down of the video sources. If you still having delay issue, at least with my experience with EOS R, if i use face tracking or eye track AF it causes delay. i use either single point or the large box AF. I hope this helps.

@LegendGary2134 жыл бұрын
From your question i am assuming you want what you lived streamed as a recording saved on your computer as well? If that is what you want then yes, Within OBS you can set it up to have it recording while you're live streaming and once you end the stream or the recording it will save a recording of what you was streaming onto your PC. You can also do recording only within OBS if you dont want to livestream but would like to create a video. I hope that made sense and answered your question.

Are you able to use the elgato HD60s instead of the slgato cam Link? And also, I have a MacBook pro, so what is the difference between using OBS and stream labs OBS?
@LegendGary2134 жыл бұрын
You should be able to use the elgato HD60s, if you have a video delay with your elgato HD60s then you'll have to add a delay to the source. OBS studio is a barebones OBS so like for stream notifications and alerts you'll have to add them and set it up yourself. While stream labs OBS has the stream labs function built into the OBS software so you wont have to add stream alerts and notifications since its built into the software. You'll just have to set it up. Stream labs is a site that streamers use to have their alerts setup for their streams. I also believe streamlabs OBS is only avail for windows, so unless you have your mac bootcamped with windows installed its not going to work on MAC OS.
@Jana-cj2yk4 жыл бұрын

@@Jana-cj2yk The only issue I would say is you might come across driver issues but that is a maybe. Also I did some looking and I guess they released a beta version of streamlab OBS for mac the beginning of this month, so it looks like streamlabs OBS will have a MAC release.
@Jana-cj2yk4 жыл бұрын
LegendGary323 perfect! I really appreciate it. You also mentioned that if I use the HD60s instead of the cam link I would have a delay and I would have to add a delay to the source. How would I accomplish this? I just really would like a capture card that would not only capture from my camera but also from my Xbox one, switch etc for when I’m streaming. And I would hate to buy two separate capture cards.
@LegendGary2134 жыл бұрын
@@Jana-cj2yk I dont think the Elgato HD60s needs a video delay added, but if you do get things setup and do need it you can reach out to me and I can explain how to do it. Also unfortunately if you want to use your camera as your webcam using the elgato and capture your consoles at the same time it wont work with one capture device. You'll only be able to capture one source with that capture card unless you buy another capture device. And no problem hopefully i was able to help.
