I love your videos Vaughan, thank you! Your teaching style works for me. Really like the idea of deliberate practice, it's completely changed the way I think about dance training. Thank you :)

This was super helpful. I am working on getting better at my rumba walk and footwork. Your instruction definitely helped it to click. I want to get my cuban motion and feel like I'm dancing more smoothly.

This video is about the 4th of your videos I’ve watched. I instantly subscribed! This is exactly the type of material needed to improve beginner to intermediate dancers. Granted my situation is a bit unique. I am from the United States, in China, learning Latin dance from a Chinese woman. Both of us speak very little of the others native language. But, I feel this type of material is universally applicable for anyone learning from a highly trained dancer. Unless they have been teaching for years. I feel, because these foundations are second nature to them, it may be common for an instructor to gloss over these minute details which perfect your dancing. Additionally, class time is brief relative to practice time; therefore having this basic material as a reference is exceptionally useful for beginners. We may not comprehend, or remember all the instruction given in our very brief sessions. This allows practice of proper technique regardless of our retention, or deeper understanding of the movements taught during lessons.

Welcome to the channel! Dance is universal - although cliche. I recall in training in London many Japanese couples who would fly over and do many lessons... without knowing a word of English! On the other side of this comment. You only pick up information you're ready for. The coaches challenge is to explain the same concept as many different ways as possible so when you come back from each practice just that little bit better you can integrate the next bit of information. Slowly as each jigsaw piece is in place you form a better and more beautiful picture of your dancing.
