Used mine yesterday to process garlic and mixed herbs. I have had several different kinds of food processors and I never would have believed that such a large processor could handle 1 garlic clove and 1C of herbs. In three pulses, it turned them into tiny fragments of dust. Incredible! I am thrilled and can't wait for Thanksgiving.
@epicuricloud3 жыл бұрын
Love that!!! For small items like that you can also have the motor running, then drop smaller items in through the top. Helps to mince small items when the hit the spinning blade - they bounce around and get minced up. But sounds like your pulsing worked great!! Love it! Enjoy!

@@epicuricloud Hi, Tina! I thought of doing that but, I thought "let's put this big beast to the ultimate test" and it passed with flying colors. It really was amazing! I would have had to chop those herbs for 20 minutes to have gotten that kind of result. Bring on Turkey Day!

What a great video! I'm no longer "afraid" of my Kitchen Aid FP! I'm 64 years old and have been manually chopping and slicing by hand forever. When I unpacked my FP and took a look through the parts, I wondered if I had made a mistake. Your video just answered many questions for me. Now I'm so looking forward to becoming friends with my FP. I'm already thinking of dishes that I can make using the FP. One of them is my Summer Salad that usually turns out to be a two-hour prep (a LOT of ingredients). I'm so excited and will check out the recipes on your website.

Thank you for the video with the excellent demonstrations. I was struggling with how to get the pieces back into the bowl! lol I just received the 13-cup food processor with the dicing attachment as a Christmas gift. The only thing I am missing is the French Fry blade. I'm sad KA hasn't offered that as another accessory yet. I have had a previous KA food processor for years, and this is such an improvement. First. No hole in the bowl! No messy leaks or spills. Second, great idea to store in the bowl all the attachments, but I will probably keep it set up with the base blade since I use that most often. Third, the cover! What a concept! The cover for processing seals well, so no flour clouds from the bowl, and the storage cover is great if you want to leave your prep in the fridge or wait for the dough to rise. One less dirty bowl! Fourth. The cord wrap on the bottom is a superb idea. I made chicken salad yesterday, and couldn't believe how efficient it was. Thank you again for the video.

Thank you for this throughout explanation on how to use this food processor. I love the slicing and dicing function. And the storage in the bowl function is so clever, because the truth for all attachment boxes is, if you need to store them away in a cupboard, you will not use them a lot. However, I would love to buy the french fries disc separately and I'm missing a tool for whisking. The 9 cup FP has a whisking disc, would be great if Kitchenaid would provide it for this FP as well 😊

Hello - the dicing accessory is not generally included in smaller food processors. As far as I know at this point dicing is only available on the 13-cup and on the Food Processor Attachment. The 13-cup has a larger dice, the Food Processor Attachment has a smaller dice size. Is there a option for a finer chopper blade

Hi Anthony - one chopper blade - various shredding discs. Take care!

Nice video, I have a question do you think it would do a good job slicing sticks of Pepperoni? I have 2 food processors, 1 did a great job, 1 does a terrible job. The good one's broke and I'm looking for a replacement mainly to slice pepperoni/hard salami.
@epicuricloud2 жыл бұрын
Hi J.R. Thanks for reaching out. I will have to try it again. I can't recall exactly which model I tried pepperoni with. I know in the past I've had different results depending upon the brand/casing of the pepperoni. Some seem to be more dense. I'll reply here once I give it a try.

Does your food processor still work, or did it stop working?

Still working!

Woud you please answer a question for me? I want to use the shredding blade and the cutting blade in the lower part of the processor at the same time. I used to own a Hamilton Beach processor that would allow me to grate cheese very efficiently. The normal cutting blade in the bowl was doing the fine grating of romano cheese shredded by the upper blade. Is this possible with the 13 or 10 cup version of this food processor?

Hi Anthony - I'm not 100% sure this would be a KitchenAid approved usage. But I have accidentally turned on with the shred blade and the metal multi purpose blade.

If you have to decide whether to buy a stand mixer or a food processor, which one you will go for? Thanks in advance. Lovely video by the way.

@@epicuricloud Hard to say, because we love having a nice dessert as the happy ending of a meal. I am just trying to make my life easier. Would it be possible to have a video where you talk about the differences between the two? Thanks for coming back to me!
@epicuricloud2 жыл бұрын
@@personalJoke I wish I had more time to make videos! You can make a lot with a food processor. even some "short" doughs like scones, pie crust, biscuits. and some yeast doughs (I tend do stick with single batches) But for mixtures where you need to "cream" butter and sugar - hard to beat a stand mixer. Also stand mixer for larger/tougher yeast doughs.

Excellent video… too bad my new machine ONLY worked on the first two times I used it and it went out on the third use😡

Does this also have a smaller container for smaller amounts of food? Or can I buy a separate smaller container?
@epicuricloud Жыл бұрын
Hi Peter - It does not have a smaller container. I will say as compared to my much older style model with the large bowl that had sloping sides - this straight sided container can handle smaller batches. Anything super small, I use my chopper for.

Does the dicing kit fit all food processors across the line?

@latashawiller8559, No it doesn't.

I have the last model they put out and I had nothing but problems. I constantly had to remove the lid because large pieces of food would get stuck between the ring and the lid or food wouldn’t go into the bowl and would be circulating between the lid and the blades. How is this model for those issues?
@epicuricloud2 жыл бұрын
Hi Renee - Do you have a 7 or 9 cup with the in-bowl storage? (kind of looks like this one but smaller?) If so, those round shredding/slicing discs have 2 positions. A lower and higher position so you can stack them for storage. Make sure when you want to use the disc it's in the higher position - it should be about flush with the rim of the bowl.
@epicuricloud2 жыл бұрын
Renee - I made this video which goes over the 9-cup Food Processor - talks about the blade positions about 3:10 in the video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJbLlnh6qtl-Zrc

Hello - depends where you purchase - at the time I posted this video - QVC was offering a special price as the Today's Special Value.

Thank you so much, really helpful! Do you know if and where I can get the French fries disc outside of the US (Europe)? I asked kitchenaid directly and they sad there is actually no french fries disc available for this fp. Is it the same disc as for the bigger and older food processor that also has the dicing kit?
@epicuricloud2 жыл бұрын
Not that I know of - I think the older 13 cup is a different shaped bowl. Sorry!
