A simple demo on how to use your brand new Polly Collective Depth Guides to make the perfect slab!
So you invested in our amazing simple Depth Guides and have no idea what or how to use them? Well after you watch this you will be fine!
If you have no idea what “Depth Guides” are also watch and you will see why you should have these.... if your a slab maker for contemporary style polymer clay making!
Why Depth Guides???
2 years ago my workshops were really taking off, especially statement earrings and I needed to figure out a way for my students to be able to make and roll a slab easily, without waste, without going to thin or too thick! And without having to buy a load of clay machines. And then my idea for depth guides just happened and I went with it! Now they are used all over the world by a large percentage of the contemporary slab makers! They also work well for bead making to get a consistent depth - they eliminate the need for a bulky clay machine if you don’t have the space, they store away as easily as a pen either in a drawer or a cup! Oh and you know they come is sparkly glitter, bright colours and look super cool in your studio right?
How do you get your hands on them???
Either my regular restocks - check my Instagram bio for upcoming dates or through my exclusive stockist Jewellery Supplies Co.
Yes we both ship internationally and I also consider wholesale if your a maker who wishes to teach and use them as a tool in workshops - this is strictly by application and not automatically accepted.

I also slice the slab to get the air out. I thought it as unorthodox, but whatever work, I guess. :p

is there like a guideline of which depth is good for what projects? I make book marks and cup toppers.. should they be a certain depth?
@pollycollective
@pollycollective 21 күн бұрын
I like 3mm for earrings, if you cure clay correctly you can do any depth, for book marks you really just have to think about aesthetics and what look good!

I'm a new viewer and have watched a couple of videos. I started watching this one till you dropped the F--- bomb. If this is how you do things.. I'm sadly withdrawing. I want you to be yourself but we don't need to hear that.

Lisa, I agree. I'm not a prude, but some simple editing would have taken care of that. Not a very professional offering.

So what’s the plus side to using the guides vs a polymer clay machine? Less distortion?
@pollycollective
@pollycollective 4 жыл бұрын
If you put a detailed slab through a pasta machine it will stretch and distort. Using guides gives you an even depth while controlling your roll down to that depth.
