Loved the video Tony. Always amazes me how good/functional the SRM GUI looks every time I see it. Great job!

@@QuikTechSolutions You're welcome Tony. All is good at my end (and will be better at the end of next year when I think I can retire (from my day-gig) 🙂

Once again a great video. Your ability to explain and describe is very much appreciate it. You leave the viewer not to infer anything, thank you. I’ve been a long time Synology user, I have the RT2600 ac router (love it). I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to what distributor to use in purchasing the new RT6600 ax router. Thanks in advance.

Hi Rick! Thanks for the awesome comment. Believe it or not, you can find the RT6600AX on Amazon - amzn.to/3EWZk9N. Again, thanks for watching! Have a great day!

Two questions: 1. Does the Synology router let you hook into any services for cloud backup when you're using the USB drive for file sharing? 2. Does the Synology router have access to DHCP option 66/66? Great video as usual!

Hi Jeremy, thanks for watching. Great questions! I have not seen support for either option in this router. I have combed through the UI several times, specifically the DHCP settings. It is a very limited set of options. I know if you install DHCP Server package on a Synology NAS, you have the ability to configure DHCP options. Not seeing anything of the sort on SRM 1.3.1. That's not to say it won't be included in future versions, but I'm not seeing it. If anyone else knows otherwise, please share in this thread. Thanks.

I have a Synology DS220+ NAS with a 4TB external drive connected to one of the two USB ports as the first stage of my backup strategy. To the other USB port, I have a UPS connected. As such, the front USB Port is not easily accessible for one-off backups of my portable flash drives. If I connected the external backup drive to my Synology RT 6600ax router, could I access this from my NAS thus freeing up my front USB port? Also, if I did this, could I also maintain the Threat Prevention database on this drive also? Thanks for the great videos. Keep them coming!

Hi Bruce! Thanks for watching! Just to be clear, are you asking if the DS220+ can connect and backup to the share on the RT6600AX? If so, this is not supported at this time. But I wanted to test something before replying. I tried Hyper Backup using rsync hoping I might get lucky. While the RT6600AX showed up in the list of available network devices, authentication to the actual share was not an option. Hope this answers your questions. Have a great day!
