Good stuff! Depending on the warband, I will use my warlord as a general (saga battery) to get an extra activation with we obey. I like a mounted warlord for this. The extra mobility allows me to move and activate troops as needed. If this is the board style, there is about a 50% chance I will not get into melee with the warlord. I do this more frequently with the Carolingians but also the Last Romans and Byzantines. Typically, this is with shooting warband or mixed. The only exception is the Spanish. I will get the warlord into melee late in the game. Great discussion.
