How To Varnish or Epoxy Coat a Mast Without Runs

Brilliant!! I was trying to figure out how to do something like this. For much smaller "round stock" we used a welding positioning table at a machine shop I worked in, worked great but too small for a mast. Now I need to decide if I want to epoxy before varnish or after.....

Thanks, always epoxy first then varnish. The varnish protects the epoxy from rapid degradation due to uv exposure.

Did you use a special type of epoxy, or just the regular stuff?

This method works well with any of the boat building epoxies as well as varnish.
