When you’ve been animating in clip studio, flip a clip, or another program, and now want to import the exported pngs or jpgs into Adobe Animate, you may have found that you cannot color and fill bitmap images like those created with vector lines. However, you can turn them into vectors using Adobe Illustrator. Here’s a little video showing how I was able to turn exported pngs from Clip studio and bring them into Adobe animate by ‘vectorizing’ them first, in Adobe Illustrators "Image Trace" function. Here's how:
1-Open image in Adobe illustrator,
2- Go to the “Image Trace” tab (if it’s missing make sure there’s a checkmark next to it in the list under Menu/Window/ Image Trace/.
3-Select the image,
4-Clicked on “Trace” and if it looks the way you want, save it as an ai file.
You can then import that .ai file into Adobe Animate.
