Good work. Nice building. I have a metal garage similar to yours, but much smaller. Also no insulation. My roofing ridges are horizontal and I haven’t figured out how to put turbines up there… yet. Thanks for sharing.

I made another video installing gable vents. You might can get away with those if you need some airflow. They even have powered ones. That might be an option since you have a horizontal roof. Thanks for checking out my video.

I got a question for you. First off great videos thanks for taking your time to show the work. now, being that these metal buildings are completely sealed for instance under the eaves around the entire building it's technically not sealed there. Do you think that those would be a good enough solution for the intake vents rather than putting them on the front and back of the shop?

Its hard to say. If you have a few garage doors you might be ok because they have large openings at the top of the doors. I actually had the same thought process. I tried installing the gable vents only first but couldn’t get enough airflow so I had to install the turbine vents. Your situation might be different though. My issue was moisture from humidity but I live in the south where it’s always extremely humid. It also helps draw heat out which is good in the summer but not so much in the winter.

Thanks for the reply. I installed the whirly birds and they seemed to be doing ok. I did not mention the shop doors above where there is usually large gap, they have been sealed using a flexible material. Where the flat part of the trusses are on the bottom I installed blue Tex material so it's like an attic if you can picture that. So that being said I put a front gable vent on with a fan on a timer switch. about 2' in front of the inlet and the birds are moving strong. I climbed up and they are moving air out not in.

Hi .Would mind to give us a update ?If really takes out the hot air from inside ,if make to much noise, pros and cons, manteince ,etc.On raining days if theres any problem? Thank you.

It works excellent. No water coming through when it rains and really improved the airflow on the inside to eliminate humidity. I live in an extremely humid area and without the vents the building was very humid on the inside causing surface rust on my tools. Since the vents all the issues have been corrected. Thank you for checking out my video and commenting!

Hi there, I have a shed almost exactly the same as yours and I am having serious issues with mold/mildew forming on mdf shelving and the thermometer readings for humidity are always around 80-90%I haven’t installed vents yet but I plan too, would you say installing these vents cured your issue with moisture inside the building? Thanks

Check through my other videos. I made a few of me installing the vents, waterproofing the base, and installing roof vents to pull the air through the vents. All of these together cured all of my moisture issues. Since doing all of these things it’s been close to a year and I haven’t had a dot of rust on anything.

They have different sizes of these things. I’d go to your local hardware store and see what they have in stock. They have the recommended sq footage listed on the sizes they have. I’d imagine around 3 would be fine. They work great and move a lot of air! Check through my other videos because I did a few different things to finally get rid of all the humidity. It’s been about a year and all of my moisture and rust issues are gone.

Yes I added large end gable vents. Check through my other videos for the things I did on the metal building to get rid of my moisture issues. It’s been about a year since I’ve done everything and all my moisture issues are gone.

Here is the model # DA2430 it's by masterflow I bought it from lowes but had to order online because they didn't have it in stock. A ton of people sell these though. I'm very happy with them.

In another video I put in huge gable vents on each side. I was really surprised at how much air flows through these buildings anyhow. It isn't airtight by any means thats for sure.

Yeah that’s def gonna leak. They make vents specific for metal roofs. Plus Whirly birds are garbage cause the plastic bearings wear out too quick

They have lifetime warranties? We've had inches of rain and tornadoes with no leaks yet. Also the bearings are not plastic.
Proper ventilation for all metal roofs.
