UPDATE: There is actually food on Ellis Island. In the video I mentioned that there was not. More details in the comment from The Megan Daily below.

Your videos are very impressive. They are certainly among the top one when talking about NYC. Very well documented, you are answering about any question a foreing tourist would ask. And you are a so good communicator too with your pictures, drawings, and short descriptions. No time lost, direct to the point, and very well explained. Thanks.

Greetings from China. I have been followed your channel since "NYC subway guide" and I want to say the quality of your video is the best guide video I ever seen! NYC is the dream city that I want to visit for almost 13 years but I haven't gotten a chance to US for a visit. What a pity. Since I majored in civil engineering and architecture, the Statue of Liberty is one of my favorite statues. And I am so excited you made a such brilliant video about it! Thank you! Hope to see more wonderful videos about NYC.

Hi. Love you videos! Is it OK to take the ferry from NJ to see the statue and on the way back take the ferry to Manhattan? Or is the ticket only valid to the NJ bound ferry?

Thank you so much for all of your videos. I work for a tourism nonprofit and I've actually recommended your videos to visitors who need more information about taking the subway. As for the statue of liberty, it's awful when tourists are scammed with fake tickets or tickets that only go near the statue.

We totally loved the trip to Liberty Island and Ellis Island and spent a total of around 5 hours on both islands. Ellis Island is a must see, in my opinion, many didn't disembark the ferry. Wish we would have also done the hard hat tour, but hopefully we'll get the chance some other time. Gotta visit New York again, it was amazing!

Question: we have tickets for the Crown Reserve tour later in the afternoon. We are starting from Battery Park and wondered if we could leave early to visit Ellis Island first, and then take a Jersey ferry to get back to Liberty Island for our scheduled tour? (We understand that once we get back to Battery Park we can't come back in. )

@EscapingtheEmptyNest2 жыл бұрын
Megan mentioned the lockers on Liberty Island needing a quarter, and she's right, but you actually get the quarter back when you retrieve your stuff. They don't allow much on the pedestal level. Be ready to check almost everything. No backpacks or purses.
@UrbanCaffeine2 жыл бұрын
That's some good advice! The problem is having a quarter at all. I guess someone could ask the bookstore? 😅

I don't know if you can help me, but I have a question about the crown ticket. I'm going to NY in september and I already have my access to climb into the crown (at 10am), but I have to redeem my actual ticket at the ticket booth in battery park. But on the website it says that 10am is my "entry into the Security Facility". What does that mean? Is it the security check before boarding the ferry in battery park? Or another security check on liberty island? With crowd and lines, I don't know how long before 10am I should arrive at battery park and where exactly I have to be at 10am.
@mairim.543213 ай бұрын
I have the same question. How it went?
@devil-danna52743 ай бұрын
@@mairim.54321 Well I don't know exactly, they didn't pay attention to the time. They give you a pink bracelet when you redeem your ticket at the booth, and they make you stick it around your wrist before giving your ticket (so that you can't keep it for later or give it to someone else). My time was 10am but I went in at 9:30, they didn't care. There's too many people for them to check everyone. You have a big security check (airport-style) before boarding at Battery Park. I guess the time is when you enter there. Once you're on the island, you have to put your belongings in a locker (no bag allowed), then the guy guarding the stairs to the crown just checks your bracelet, you have to tear it in front of him and put it in a trash bin, then he lets you access the staircase. I had my ticket in my pocket the entire time and the only time somone looked at it is when entering the queue to the security check. Same thing for the museums, I had dates and time slots for all of them, they never bothered checking that, I went in everywhere easily.

Hey there !!! This was so helpful lol I'm taking my son to see the statue the end of this month.. how long does it take to get from New York Airport to the ferry ?? And is it better to uber/lyft or taxi?
@UrbanCaffeine2 жыл бұрын
Hello there! It depends on which airport you are coming from. From JFK, probably an hour. From LGA, maybe 40 minutes. From JFK, I would take a taxi since there's a fix rate. From LGA, I would take an Uber/Lyft so I can easily calculate the fare. Are you going straight from the airport to the Statue of Liberty? Just make sure you don't have luggage with you since they don't allow large bags. Have a great trip!

@UrbanCaffeine2 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Mask restrictions are changing all the time. But most institutions like museums still require a mask indoors. So I'm guessing on the ferry and inside the museums, they are still enforcing a mask.
