I hung the same paper only in pink a few weeks ago for a customer and went through pretty much the same process only to be told I was being too fussy!! 😅 I don't think people really understand the time and effort that goes into doing these things right. I took it as a compliment though. I actually found this decent paper to hang, like yourself I always insist on lining first no matter how good the walls are underneath and I've recently started using Hippo tub paste, we'll impressed to be fair. Great job Phil. 👏

Hi Phil, lovely job and visually,it really does look spot on...A quick question you may have covered in other videos, but do you seal or caulk the edges of the paper to finish? If so, do you have a video showing you doing it? Thanks, Peter..

I use the same Wickes paste. I add a slug of SBR to it. You can’t beat it

Ive been painting professionally for 23 years so listen to me if you want to know the best way to correctly apply wallpaper,the first and most important thing is preparation ,the next most important stage of the process is to phone one of your painter mates up and get them to do it 😂 best advice youll ever get lol .

Hi Phil , I’ve been hanging paste the wall paper all from b&q worked of the roll as recommended done a few feature walls , all joints was very god when first done ,seems to have lots of movement where the joints have moved , I’ve used the same paste as you, I even sized the last lot of wallrock fiber lining to stop any movement with a thin down coat of paste it’s seem to have helped . I seen on a forum that people are saying wet the paper with just water so help prevent movement when using paste the wall paper, what’s your thought,

@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator they just pulled back, or overlaped , I’m redoing to chimney breast due to smoke damage. Couldn’t believe the amount of movement in the paper, I wonder if it’s due to the amount of heat as it’s gets really hot .

@@richardloze5994 it shouldn't overlap. I do find all bon woven slightly pull back when dry . But nothing major. Iv always said WallRock etc showna slight gap once dry.. even when hung with butt joint. It's supposed to be a stable product.... It's not 100% stable.

Why do you use Wickes ready mixed adhesive and not wallrock power adhesive on the filberliner???

Never felt the need. The Wickes paste is ready good. I use the WallRock Damp Adhesive when using Damp Stop though :)

@ProfessionalPainterDecorator I will give the Wickes ready mixed a go, got full house of fiberliner smooth to hang. Was going to use a wallpaper paste. If it's rubbish you will hear back from me 🤣

Use it straight out the tub. If you find it rubbish.... LoL Done loads and loads of Wickes paste and WallRock. A longer pile roller is good to get enough on, don't over roll it out.

I hung this paper a few weeks ago for a customer but it was in pink. I think she said it was about £40 a roll. Wasn't too bad to put up to be fair but I did line with wallrock first. 👍
