I've been trying to learn how to harmonize lately. I know a tiny bit of music theory and it looks like arpeggios are the backbone of singing in harmony.
@AqueousStar712 жыл бұрын
Not really, you may be tensing up when you sing. Try to do some light warm up excercises for your neck and shoulders before singing like shoulder rolls, neck turns & tilt your head to the side to gently stretch your neck. deltoid (shoulder) stretches help too & even side bends for your waist! :):) Plus make sure you really open your mouth even inside at your throat, keeping your tongue in a sort of U shape as opposed to the back of the tongue arching up that might help take strain off too :)

Learning to sing from this video is like taking cooking lessons from the guys at your local McDonald's. If you are satisfied with Chicken McNuggests that's fine, but you should know there is food beyond the golden arches.

It's not supposed to teach you how to sing. It's giving an example of one of many exercises that singers (famous or not) use to warm up their voice. It's one that is taught even when children are first learning to warm up. True singing is something that people have to develop on their own with the practice from singing different songs to see what their voice is suited for. Some may be pop material, others suited for opera.

You cant just do vocal warmups and expect a whitney houston voice to suddenly pop out. I think the best singers are ones who have got their voices naturally then built there voices with different warmups and techniques. If you were born not being able to sing what are the chances of you having an amazing voice.
@happybunnyntx10 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure there aren't that many people that are born singing perfectly. That's half the purpose of warmups. To help you improve your voice whether or not you sound like you need it. For some it maintains their great voice. For others it can mean training themselves how to sing something a certain way so that it won't sound flat,sharp, etc. Even Pavarotti started somewhere.

I do this exercise.... and go full soprano mode XD
@LisaMurphy12 жыл бұрын
Here's a problem you're not addressing. You're pushing your chest voice (full voice/lower register) up to a rather high note there. You are a soprano and so this is no problem for you. Women with lower voices reach the break in their voice lower than you. To stretch my chest voice up that high, as you are doing, would be bad for me in a warm up. I would do it only after a warm up. You are not addressing the break in the voice, the chest voice/head voice change over and how one identifies that.
