How to Warp a Beka Rigid Heddle 4" or 10" Loom

We sell these through our shop fully threaded. Once you are finished weaving what is on the loom you will need to prepare the loom for the next project. In this recording I share one way to thread these looms. You can also thread the whole width for wider projects. The 4" loom is great for weaving warp faced narrow bands.

I wish I’d had this 10 years ago when I got my beak loom. I never progressed beyond what was already warped. I totally screwed up warping it using the typewritten instructions. I am going to try this tomorrow! (I have the 10 inch one.)

I don’t have a video. The main difference is the width. 4” or 10”. my preference is the 4” for small bands. For anything wider I prefer my Kromski Rigid heddle loom.

How do you advance the warp as you go?

You loosen the wing nuts in the front.This will loosen the block of wood the warp is wound on. You unwind by turning the wood one time and replace it. Then you pull the woven part between the pieces of wood where the screws and wing nuts are. Tighten these to hold the warp. keep on weaving.
