I certainly wouldn't aim the water at him at first. I would first let him see look at and be touched by the hose with no water on at all. Then turn it on low with it aimed away from him. Then slowly start with the water on his feet, slowly over time raising the water up his legs and on his body.

If you don't know anything and you have a young horse the most important thing you can do is find a reputable trainer close to you and get them to help you. It will be more beneficial to both of you. Head over and watch this gentlemans basic ground work videos BUT nothing will be better for you both than someone to help you "hands on". kzbin.info
