How To Wash Clean and Re-Oil Your ATV Air Filter

Today I'm going to walk you through how to clean and re-oil the engine air filter which should be done as part of its regular Outlander ATV maintenance. This is a quick and easy, and often overlooked step that makes a huge difference in not only maintaining your ATV, but also its performance. Frequency all depends on what type of conditions you ride in of course, however, this should be done regularly if riding in sandy or dusty conditions. I'll be using the Maxima Racing Oils Air Filter Maintenance Aerosol Combo Kit for cleaning and reapplying oil to the foam filter sleeve. Although I’ll be demonstrating this on my ATV, the same cleaning process applies to almost all ATV and UTV air filters of the same type.

Just went out and bought a new filter as well as this filter cleaning kit. Question, do you know if the canam filter comes pre-oiled or do I have to oil it myself? cheers!

Do you think I would put the same amount of the air filter oil you put on , on my air filter for my raptor

Good question. Make sure the foam filter is completely dry once washed. As you spray it with oil, you'll see a slight color change in the foam. You'll want to get a uniform spray coating all around the inside and outside of the foam filter. Then massage the oils into the foam and let it sit for 15 minutes before installing it back in place. Hope this helps!
