No bro. I have been using it for long and nothing happened like you said. Try to remove dirt from derailleur plastic before rotating chain. You can remove chain and clean it separately if you want. 🙌

You have to wash it once in a week if you're riding regularly. Just wipe the dust after every ride. Use degreaser only if the chain and drive train is dirty. Lube the chain if the chain is dry
