omg I just recently found out about using a leaf blower to dry. Genius. I've owned one black car before and not sure I will another black car again. Love them when they're clean but here in rainy Oregon very hard to keep looking good. Thanks for sharing!

Owning and maintaining a black vehicle is a commitment. The key for me was accepting the fact that it will never be perfect but if maintained can still look good. I’ve said “I’ll never own another black vehicle” multiple times but obviously have a penchant for punishment! 🥹🤦‍♂️

I agree, the black paint maintenance is a pain, but the reflective wet polished look you get from black paint (compared to other colors), makes it all worthwhile.

That’s a good video o how not to wash a brand new Jeep :) Use two buckets, one with soapy water and another one to rinse the mitt. You had barely any water left in your bucket - that’s exactly how you make swirl marks and scratches. It would also nice to have at least a cheap pressure washer as without it that foam cannon doesn’t do any good. It’s not like I’m paranoid but I’ve got the 392 as well and the paint is pretty soft and easy to scratch. Cheers :)

Methods to improve: Get an electric pressure washer, short gun, extension wands, nozzels and tips. Get a proper foam cannon that can be used with the pressure washer. Get the correct chemicals and soaps to use. Get a gas powered leaf blower for drying purposes. Get a stack of good microfiber towels. Study up on proper car washing techniques, you have a lot of things that can be done to provide safer and better results. Suggest you access the sites: Pan the Organizer, and Obsessed Garage for product knowledge and techniques . Current process will end up marring paint over time. Very detrimental can be greatly improved on.

One bucket just for the wheels and under fenders do first. Next grill and front only for bugs with one of several products to soften and make removal easier. Best to get a resin based soft water system such as di rinse and never use hard water on a black surface. Rinse entire jeep with soft water with pressure washer, foam cannon rinse then foam again only top and wash mitt and rinse. 1/2 of vehicle at a time and repeat same as top. If hot or windy do not let vehicle dry until you have the whole Jeep washed. Double bucket is preffered but may not be necessary if Jeep is not extremely dirty. Dry all windows first with a towel then rest of Jeep with micro fiber and detailer.

Ok, so let me add some criticism if you don’t mind. The problem is, you washed the wrong Jeep. I needed mine washed, not yours 😂. Seriously though, any future tips or videos on caring for the top will be appreciated. Thanks On another note, my 2012 rubicon was black and I’ve owned maybe 4 (I know 3) black vehicles. I love them all when they are clean, but man it’s tough to keep them that way. I recently owned the Delmonico red color on a truck. It wasn’t quite as bad as black but it wasn’t easy either.

Ha Ha! Good idea. I'll do a video on soft top care in the future. Adding the Rock Blokz mud flaps to the Jeep have been a huge help. Would highly recommend them.

The bolts that were holding in the Turbo were stripped from factory They were leaving gas into the cab Now we are waiting for parts

Why do you want to avoid the sun when washing black??

The sun will dry the water really fast on black paint and will create water spots. Also more prone to clear coat swirls and scratches when the paint is hot.

@@jeepn392 I have a input. Always use a wet cloth to clean water spots. Never user dry cloth on Black paint.
