Watched your entire video, great tips, but the best tip was the last one. Luckily we have renowned outdoor retailer in my country which has a washing service. I brought my Zenbivy in yesterday, for about 30 bucks they professionally wash it. Thanks for showing us what a pain in the butt of doing a wash yourself is!

Tip with the beginning put whatever it is in the smallest stuff sack you can get by with, press All the air out fill the container with water. then put the quilt or jacket in the water inside the stuff sack and pull it out under the water works great everytime . Awesome vid brother know it will help a lot of people

Great call on using a cooler instead of a bath tub. My house has two standup showers and I’ve been freaking out on how I was going to ask someone if I could borrow their bathroom for a few hours 😂

Gloves, good idea. Made that mistake with habanero peppers before. Sweet video dude, thanks!

Ahhhh....the Habaneros! I worked with a guy once who cut a bunch of Habaneros for chili, went to the bathroom, and forgot about the juice on his hands. He came out of the bathroom and we all thought he was doin some weird dance. Just tryin to be funny. Were laughing and he screams, "My d!ck is on FIRE!" and ran out the door. He never came back. True story😂

You didn’t talk about how you washed your down products? Did you hand wash or machine wash?
@paulkelm65503 жыл бұрын
Do you really need to soak them before putting them into the washing machine? I've just gone straight to the front-load washing machine with Down Wash on delicate.

Best tip is to go to a laundromat. The one I go to has an extractor and it spins so much water out. The dryers are so big the bags dry BETTER!

Just did all my winter clothes. Hand wash. Hang outside for the night, Sideways. Stick in dryer on low heat. Put 5 hand balls in there. Then keep going for 2 hours. Till dry.. Then use a huge garbage bag to store it away. Unless you got space to hang all that stuff for months. You can spray DWR on them. The next time you get them out to use. Will last all year.. And use a Front Loader if machine washing. On delicate...

Even in storage down products should not be compressed nor suffocated as in a garbage bag. Down needs to "breathe " so to speak with air around it to retain its loft. My old Marmot Sawtooth 15 degree down sleeping bag came with a large cotton bag to store it in but I have never used it. Rather I lay it out opened flat on top of my other sleeping bags on a storage shelf in a cool, dry basement. I try to keep it clean on the trail by changing into sack socks and washing my face before any skin oils and sweat get on the nylon. It still looks great and I have only spot cleaned the inside surface material. Another place a down bag can be laid out is under a bed. I resist suggestions to hang down sleeping bags. There is a thing called gravity and unless you are in a vacuum (or live in the South) the down will migrate downward. I just had to comment on the garbage bag storage use. Just my 2cents worth

Could I use this in my deep stainless steel farm sink??? I am more so curious if there's a weird reaction with the detergent and stainless steel. Nice video, I subscribed to your channel.

I dont think it would hurt the stainless, but I would check the product website just to be sure..👍🏻

@@beejoy6153 I'm just saying that if the stuf is safe in washing machines then it's safe in stainless sinks. Nothing is going to react with stainless steel that's safe on clothes.

Funny you should ask. I'm going to have shirts and hats available soon. I've been testing different shirt material for two years trying to find the most ecofriendly performance shirt out there. I found it and it's rad. Working on a design, logistics, and some other details. I'm hoping to offer a limited run soon. Hats to follow as well. Instagram would be the best way to keep up with that as it progresses. Thanks for the interest...👍👍👍

Shit I just throw my down jackets in the washing machine on a cold quick wash with free and gentle detergent; and then I throw them in the machine dryer with 3 to 4 wool dryer balls on air dry only. Comes out super puffy and dry pretty quick.

@@pbkayakyer I've had my bag for 12 years and have backpacked 2500 miles with it and I'm only now going to wash it. It still functions like new but it's grimy. Synthetics are too heavy and BULKY for long distance backpacking but for jeep camping and overnighters you could. I have a 32º bag that weighs 23oz and a synthetic 0º bag for my jeep that weighs 70oz and would not fit in my pack if it was the only thing in the pack.
