This Hik-Connect account settings (Error Code 105) comes due to bad DNS Settings, Please login into your DVR Network Settings and change the DNS1 - 8.8.8.8 and DNS2 - 4.2.2.2 and Restart the DVR.

If you forget Software password you can recover by security question answer. If you did not set security questions then you can't. Just uninstall and install again with new password

Laptop IP and DVR IP can be anyone but it must be in same series. like DVR IP : 192.168.1.XXX and Laptop IP : 192.168.1.XXX
