Great lookbook and tips, Jeff! Black+grey has been one of my absolute fav color pairs for at least 15 years now, and it works best with the pants being grey. Grey chinos or jeans with a black polo/button down/leather jacket has to be one of the most bad-ass masculine and minimalist looks ever created.

I never thought to go with Burgundy shoes with the black look. But it looks great. Everyone else would wear black shoes but you'll definitely stand out in a positive way with those Burgandy shoes.

Last semester I bought a medium gray pair of chinos (I'm a student). I have been wearing them way more than jeans or khakis because they match everything, any color you throw at them, any type of footwear and tops. They have become my signature along with my glasses. If you buy a pair, you will stand out but won't look flashy or dorky, which makes them a great option for all men.

Yes, you can in a casual dress but not in business formal. A black suit only goes with black shoes. Great look with the Paul Evans oxblood Chelsea boots. Good thing it was not a pair of Paul Evans oxblood chukkas I would be salivating over my keyboard like a starving dog over a thick t-bone steak.

Put a thick rubber band on your wallet. It will not prevent a pickpocket from lifting your wallet but cause enough friction for you to sense the attempt. It's a trick my father used that he learned in NYC from people on both sides of the law.

OG has a point about posture (George Costanza THICK wallet) but styles wise depends on the type of wallet and its thickness. A thick wallet the back pocket or inside pocket of a jacket. A thin and or minimalist wallet can go to the front pocket. The key is does it break the silhouette if place at the front pocket (ie no bulge showing).

The chino is a casual trouser, it is hard to make it look good with dark formal colours like dark grey, navy and black. A light-colour stone grey chino would be much easier to wear. Chino is great with beige, light-stone, sand, mustard, khaki, light olive, light blue, pale grey, etc. Darker or even medium grey and navy are best for dress formal wool trousers. Black is best for tuxedo and for jeans. This is a paradox but black seems to work with either the most formal or least formal trouser kind, the jeans. IMO.
