He's done some thoughts throughout on how to stay on a budget--usually involving going to consignment shops to buy used items. Te budget market doesn't really hit his target for customers of his Fort Belvedere shop...

Sometimes we don't want to stand out , but just to wear something nice. So many times when you wear something more elegant you appear to the eyes of other people like the black ship. Wearing neutrals really helps to reduce that and at the same time pass the statement. I would really love to see videos about this topic , when you want to wear something nice and at the same time not to drag attention in places were there is not quite a culture behind wearing something else than t-shirts and hoodies ( at best sweaters and jeans )

It's a shame that we feel that we cannot venture into certain places or areas simply because of the way that we dress.

Great video as usual although I dont't completely agree with the coffee for everyone approach tha some of these videos project. You will have to agree that not every man can wear browns or greys close to the face without looking washed out and that a monochrome ensemble can look great on men even though Sven does not like it. 👊🎩

What socks and shirt should i go for when wearing ivory pleated trousers and burgundy adelaides?
@zoukatron5 жыл бұрын
Hmm... Strictly speaking, browns are not true neutrals either, we have that perception because of traditional (though false colour theory) and the earthy association. Browns are basicly low saturation oranges and yellows. I do admire brown and grey colour schemes though - the rather fetching plumage of the Egyptian goose has always inspired me.

Dear Gentleman's Gazette, For my work I have to show up in formal attire. However there's one small issue, it has to be completely in black (except for the tie). Any advice on how not to appear like I am going to a funeral? Many thanks in advance.

K 55 Tricky question! Although I ain't Sven, my humble advice may help you out as well. I've been on the men's style train for years now. So, let me suggest the following: - Use different textures, e.g. an oxford cloth shirt, or a linen/cotton blazer. But at all costs: - Avoid shiny fabrics. One shiny piece may be acceptable, but don't go with more than that. Imagine a satin shirt with a shiny suit, and polished shoes even - that quickly comes off like a school prom look. - On that note, keep it subtle with your shoes. Broguing may appear too informal. I'd recommend a modern classic: The black wholecut shoe. These can be dressed up or down all the way and will fit your outfit, no matter what fabric, tone or accessory you combine them with. Dapper end effortless at the same time.
