left means single and right means married, when I was around 8 years old and in my village at my grandmother's palmwine place. They bought Christmas clothes for us and I can remember the men telling me and my brother to wear it to the left. This is a core memory for me. Also if you think about symbolism of right and left in all our proverbs and life in general, Right is more important than left and marriage is more symbolic than being single and hence right has to be for marriage and left for single

Thanks Segun for this brillant display. Just one question. Why is the fila bent to the right and not to the left?
@sulaimaanahmad6 жыл бұрын

Please who's Left position, the wearer or the person in front of the wearer?

This is exact question that brought me to find this video.

@@sulaimaanahmad sorry but that's incorrect. Its actually the opposite. Bent right means married, and left means single.
@ironeagle9182 жыл бұрын
@@playboxlimited. The wearer. If he wears it to the right means he's single and left means married.
