How to: Weekly Wheel Wash

The Weekly Wheel Wash and how I go about it every week of the year!
So here is the next in my how to videos, how I wash my wheels each week and the tools and formula's I use to achieve perfect results fifty two weeks a year.
*NOTE* As you may have seen, these wheels where pervious seal with a single layer of mint rims a couple of months ago. Wheels that are not seal may not react as well to this treatment.
So my weekly proceeder is as follows:
First up I fill a bucket of water and add a squirt of Auto Finesse Revolution and all of my wheel brushes and tools.
Next a heavy rinse down with a pressure washer to remove light dirt and grime, including tyres and under carriage.
Onto the wheels; I always start with the wheel barrels starting at the top and working down. After the barrels I use a wheel mitt and get the spoke backs and faces. Next a small soft wheel brush gets any dirt out of the lug nuts holes. Lastly on the wheels I use a smaller spoke bush to get into any tighter spaces.
Next the tyres and under carriage are brushed down with a long handle brush.
Once the cleaning is down the cycle is complete with a final rinse down to remove and wheel soap left on the wheel. Once rinsed the wheel and tyre are dried ready for a quick layer of tyre dressing.
Finally a quick drop of tyre dressing insures the showroom fresh look to your wheels and tyres and your done!
As I say these steps are the step I use and the steps in find that work for me on sealed wheels. And a good cleaning schedule makes this an easy job each week with brilliant results every week. Now time for some links:

Nice video as usual. One thing...I used to have one of the meguiars tyre dressing applicators similar to the one you used. For the benefit of others I scratched an alloy using it as there is a sharp plastic edge and if you press too hard it will squash the sponge and scrape the rim. I use kitchen dishwashing sponges now - way cheaper and safer 😀👍

Good job. I'm looking at trying a different tyre dressing. Was thinking about the Meguiars you use. Is it really that good? Some say it's sticky and messy and slings and attracts dust?

+Richard Hurr it is a good dressing if you want a shine to your finish. Don't apply it crazy thick and you will have no issues. Joe

That tire gel from megs is like $10 but lasts forever! You hardly use any and you don't always have to re-apply after each wash.

Just want to ask, is it you just wash the wheel without wash car body ? Because I feel wash whole car in short time is quite a rush for me, due to is washing outdoor nothing cover, sun light will be the challenge for me .

I always clean my wheels and alloys first, is it worth putting the gel on after cleaning them if I'm going to snow foam the car etc?

There's no point in putting tyre/trim dressing on if you've got the rest of the car to wash. Wait until you've finished the entire car then dress tyres and trim to finish the job :-)

Apply a nice coat of wheel wax to finish off and give max protection, otherwise looking nice!

Joe, liked your video. I bought aftermarket rims and tires from Discount tire. 19" Drag wheels. how do I know if they are "alloy" or not. They are silver in color.. thanks very much.

I like your video. but I advice you to use a wheel cleaner to dry wheels first (I use sonax) it clears all the break dust and then I prefer to youse meguiars shampoo (or a simple one, does not matter in this case) with general conditioner. you will see it would be much easier and cleaner for you.

CemB that's what I used to do but it's a more expensive way to clean your wheels so I use the wheel cleaner sprays less often now.
