This is awesome. After watching 100 (?) videos, this just made sense. No questions.

You make that look so easy. I spent 30 minutes trying with some success, I'll keep practicing. Top Tip: I did it indoors with the sofa behind me, made the falls a lot softer.

I wanted to thank you because, thanks to that video I learned how to do a wheelie, and I am now able to take the subway on my own. Thank you so much =)

I am new to my wheelchair. I have MS and am quickly paralyzing from the waist down. This video has given me the courage to continue learning techniques that allow me the freedom to come and go as I please, without dragging one of my kids along. Thank you!!

Thanks for having this video. I had been doing wheelies the wrong way, like you described, for years, and couldn't understand why I couldn't stay up in a wheelie for very long and why I kept tipping backwards. I have been practicing your technique and it has helped me so much. Thanks!

I took a wheelchair lesson my trainer had celebral palsy. He was able to master the wheelie but it took him one year to practice. I have the same issue but I think I can do it too. But I am aware of the fact now that it will take much longer then the usual. :)

You make it look very easy. Wow! I amb a wheelchair user. But I have problems with propriocepsis all throughout my body. So my brain notices changes to late. Wheely in place is something I can't do because of it. But I am glad that I am able to do the wheelie popup. So I can jump up and also off curbs.

Thanks for the help I'm always ramping up before and I've been fine but the other day I fell down backwards down the steps and hit my head and banged myself up pretty good.

that's probably a bit more difficult but honestly once you find that center they are easier than once thought

Me learning wheelies scares my OT most of all LOL She thinks anti-tip wheels are all mighty and has to be used at all times :P I no longer use the anti-tip wheels and get around great in my town even with a heavy backpack on the backrest :) I don't have an SCI but "think like a paraplegic" in the chair and don't use my legs to balance.

What kind of tires and rims are you using?

does this mean i need to make my center of gravity more tippy? cause doing your technique there is no way my chair lifts like that without force.
@HowiRoll6 жыл бұрын
Aj Morris 2 years late, but better late than never. I’m sure you figured it out by now, but yes, you need to slide your center of gravity forward, maybe an inch at most. You’ll notice a huge difference. Let me know if you have any other questions 🤘🏽

Sounds easy, you must have a low spinal injury...try that as a T5 complete!!

I'm sure it's just me, but I think the sound could use some improvement.

Hawkeye4077 Yes... yes you’re 100% correct. Next time, I’ll be sure to ask Palm Beach International airport down the street to halt all flights while I film at home.. Fascinating observation, sir.. Thank you for the input, truly.

Sarcasm aside, if your recording device has an external microphone jack, you might want to consider it.

Nope ~ Just can't get my front casters up at the front as easily as you do. I'll find a way around it ;)

I keep falling flat on my back, can only sucessfully "jump" over obstacles not hold the balance, at least i hope to get over my fear of falling haha

I'm getting a new chair in a month so might be a good time to experiment more with gravity placement
