You really should do an intermediate wheelie tutorial. So one that teaches people how to turn in a wheelie, which involves pivoting the bike with your shoulders, letting the bike lean to the given side, and then turning the bike straight with your shoulders to complete the turn
@maxatrillionfatstacks29 күн бұрын
It's also in your hips, I have to push the seat to the side by shifting my hips/butt and pushing it. I imagine people that manual really far do this by pushing through the pedals to turn cause they're not sitting on the seat but you can't pedal like that. If I try to lean the bike with my upper body too much I either end up steering the bars which does nothing or getting stuck into the lean and not being able to recover it but by shifting my hips I can slide back to the middle better and straighten out.
@maxatrillionfatstacks29 күн бұрын
For anyone who struggle with turning keeping a wheelie straight you're probably not keeping your arms out enough and not leaning back far enough in the seat. Doing that makes it so you don't have to lift your wheel as much to stay at the balance point and more of your pedal energy goed into moving you forward rsther than lifting the wheel. It's also super critical to look where you're going and not at the front wheel, I can consistently wheelie straight towards an object like a street lamp on the outside of the parking lot but as soon as i space out and start staring at my tire i lose it. On the other hand if you can't get the bike to turn or recover from a turn the key is to get it past the balace point slightly shift your weight through your hips into the seat and then shift back and straight out. The longer you hold the leaned over position the harder it is to recover it especially if your head and upper torso lean into it but if you take a turn in little stages where you turn, straighten out, turn, straighten out in quick succession its harder to get stuck in a lean. Also brake control is critical, i drag my brake slightly in turns, downhills and other spots where i might need to make more corrections but if you grab the brake hard it'll just drop the front wheel so the key is smooth and slight brake inputs for corrections when it comes up too high so you can drop the wheel slightly and not disrupt your balance as much. I'm bad at explaining all this but i was very mediocre at wheelies until like a month ago when a few things started to click and now i can consistently do a complete lap of this big parking lot i practice in so i can maintain a wheelie through turns (which i couldn't do before) consistently for about a half mile and if I'm really feeling myself about a mile which is night and day from where i was.

great tutorial! only thing I would add is that it helps to practice on a slight uphill since the wheel doesn't have to travel as high to get to your balance point, which can boost confidence. only thing to consider when trying this is, the steeper the uphill, the further you have to fall if you tip backwards, which is why the keyword here is slight-a slight uphill. thanks for the content!

I also find myself unable to find where the bike balances on its own without me providing power to the crank to keep the front wheel up too. Also side to side balance seems to be a problem too. Ive been practicing wheelies for years and cant seem to get it. Are 29ers harder to wheelie or do i just suck lol
