I started whittling about 20+ years ago. KZbin wasn't around, so I picked up a couple books/magazines and started "chopping" wood. Thanks very much! 👍✌

@@WhittlingWoods I didn't grow up with KZbin either. I will turn 65 in a couple of months. I've been trying my hand at this carving for a couple years now and I still have problems. You can tell what it is but it's a little choppy. 😂

@shoey64 @shoey64 I turned 60 a few months back. If you look at the demographic KZbin lists for my "audience," 75% are over 55! I guess us "old folks" know a good thing when we find it.😉 The best advice I have for learning to whittle is to stick with just one or two straight knives and practice rounding out squared off pieces of wood, then learn to use the knife to do what a V gouge does on the rounded wood.👍✌️
