Canada were a tough side coming off a good run of wins and were looking to make a big point on home turf. It was great to see England able to manage the game and dog it out to get the victory. You learn more from games like that. Great convo, many thanks! Hope you get a decent rest before you're thrown back in to the fray!

Love this team. My favourite sports team. And such nice, humble, intelligent girls too. Not just these two, but all the team. I think Abby Dow was missed in the Canada game….

What an amazing game so glad I got up to watch it. Really tough going but a massive effort to bring it home. Can't wait for the world cup. Got my tickets. Come on the 🌹's!

“If anyone else can hear in her voice, she still thinks she’s not in the wrong” Perfect 👌 line 🤣🤣🤣 Unique insight from you both and been a great journey the last few weeks as WXV 1 has progressed

Really enjoyable game, well worth starting up until 3am to watch, and the whole team really stepped up to the mark in probably the most physical game I’ve seen you play.

Interesting that in one of the hardest Red Rose games to date all three tries were scored by the forwards...
@hitchikerspie2 ай бұрын
It was the same in the 6 nations decider in Bordeaux, there are more backs tries throughout our games now, but in the really tight contests it’s still the forwards where we have our biggest edge.

Ah! But what was Mr Mitchell’s game-strategy? He’s still learning about women’s rugby. It’s all very well saying ‘Play faster!’

Is there a precedent for a player in any sport to represent their country forty-three times and to be on the winning side each time like Jess Breach has done? If there isn't I think the Guinness Book Of Records needs to be alerted to the fact. That she's also scored forty-six tries in those forty-three matches probably won't be a record but it's still a remarkable achievement.

i think it is very underestimated that we played with 1 less player for 20 mins of the second half !! and also abby dow did not play !!

I'm still genuinely confused by her yellow card. As far as I saw I, like Ellie, thought no ruck - where's the offside?
@seeker14322 ай бұрын
You got caught out and Individually marked. You are the best and know there game plan now also. You didnt then. But you still won. You ladys are my heros. Dont let there tricks throw you. But you know there strategy now and i be ready.

Canadians play against all the England players week-in, week-out. They will have learnt the tactics to use against individual English players. Given that the English team was low on energy and the Canadian lineout was easy pickings, I think that England would have made life easier for themselves by kicking to touch more often, rather than trying to run everything.

Both card's were dubious could have been fatal to lesser sides, ref's know this, personally I think, it's a power trip ref's look to do this from time to time.
@thetruthhurts76752 ай бұрын
Ellie is correct here. For example go look at the England men's game against Italy, where they do NOT contest any ruck or tackle. This means there is no offside as a line has not effectively been drawn. She was wrongly carded in the game, another deliberate anti England tactic by world Referees.

Don’t worry about it. Every time we watch a rugby game we see plenty of errors from every team and all referees. So many tries have been scored from forward passes virtually every match. As much as I hate it, we just have to kick the cat and get on with life. The next stage England:- Stand deeper and spread the ball wider. I just love the way you all play it well in hand. It is so much better to watch than the usual men’s game, where they generally kick the ball away so much. Well done. Everyone is allowed a bad day at the office, but you all showed you had tough resilience to weather the storm and win through against all those odds. Ok, for the men’s game, not so many tears, but otherwise you ladies play a much better game to watch. Thank you.l

That all these other sides have good/excellent players in the Allianz learning the English game may come back to bite England on the bum in 2028. 😲🙄

Ladies', I hope to god you don't meet Canada in the World Cup next year. In my heart, I want you ladies to win but I fear Canada will be your downfall should you meet them.
@Pete_T_M2 ай бұрын
They weren't the last time they met in the final 😎
@seeker14322 ай бұрын
They where complacent not expecting such effort. Yet they still won . They will beat them again. They never expected being marked individually. Next time they will. England Lady's will win again. They mess up some but learnt from it.
