We played Villainous for the first time this past weekend. My fiance played Yzma and won but after watching this video it seems we may have played it wrong. Are heroes considered "in your realm" if they are still in the deck and not played onto the board? She found Kuzco quickly as well and Kronk and got a pretty easy win.

Playing Yzma Lesson 1: SMASH! SMASH ALL! Yes Wrong Lever and Kuzco suck getting smashed, but guess what if you are lucky you can essentially smash 10 cards out of 15 never to be used on you. Don't wait and start smashing those decks flat Yzma becomes very dangerous when her decks start to thin out and all the bad cards she smashed are now used up. Lesson 2: Meat Hut > Jungle < Meat Hut. These are literally her best areas. Discard and mill through till you find Kronk or Right hand man. It's also a great way to get Smash it with a Hammer for even more SMASHING. Then Fate at the Meat hut if it's not covered to slow down your opponents. All in all, if you can keep these areas cleared you can Smash each turn with those cards. Lesson 3: Only use After them when you know Pacha, Tipo, and Chacha are gone. Peasant only hurts you if you didn't do the right deck that has Kuzco. Do this only when you know you can win this turn. Otherwise you are setting yourself up for a nasty fate with Tipo/Chacha coming back out. DEFEATING YZMA Lesson 1: FORCE her to vanquish. The more you force her to the Palace the longer it takes for her to get through her deck. Don't ever play Wrong Lever as it can never hurt her unless Meat Hut is covered. Bring out those heroes and flood her two best areas to slow her down fast. Lesson 2: Search through all the decks. Know where On the Run and Pacha are. The second Yzma starts to find the deck you know has Kuzco play pacha and confuse her all over again. Don't shuffle the On the Run deck unless you HAVE to. Keep that one for later when Kuzco comes out. Lesson 3: Force Kronk to become a hero. Yzma needs Kronk and him being a very powerful ally means she will try to use him as much as she can. Put a hero near him encouraging her to go to the palace and move him. Especially if you cover the Jungle. 1 power on him now. Then just keep egging her on or play Path of Righteousness and push her back further with him as a Hero.

Up to date finally! Next up should definitely be either Ratigan or if PW is out Pete (as he seems the most complicated from known info) Yzma was one of the characters I wanted to play the most, but took me a while to get around to; I only had complete newbies to play with when I finally got my copies of the game this holiday (after playing it once two years ago and loving it) and Yzma is definitely not a character you play when teaching someone the basic rules.

Maleficent, Prince John, Hades, and Scar are who I'd classify as "easy" for newbies, as their only real drawback is Fating. Medium = Hook, the two Queens, and Ratigan as slightly more complicated mechanics and win conditions. Hard = Ursula and Jafar for multi-step wins, and Facilier and Yzma for weirdest card mechanics.

David Stone yes! Pete has 5 tokens. At the beginning you randomly grab 4 and place one at each location. You can look at them anytime. But your opponents don’t know what they are. :) most have to do with achieving things at the location like placing a number of items or allies. Paying 6 power in one turn. He’s very fun!

I found she kinda sucks I just got this expansions I also have the original game , but she's almost worse than ursula, yzma only has 4 card in the entire deck to buff kronk ,3 guards and 1 dagger ,,, that's if fighting with guards still counts as kronk killin kuzco (which isn't explained in rules ) if not u need dagger , I even got super lucky with using eavesdrop I found kuzco right away , got him out but then my brother fated me and got run for the hills or w/e so he put kuzco back in , then next turn still got lucky and found him again , but ally allies and the dagger were in my discard so the only thing I could do was keep discarding till I could reshuffle , then Id still have to find one of said cards , if I'd had known that kuzco is a 7 and kronk is a 6 I wouldve saved the dagger for him , also I wouldn't have saced my allies to search for the card that lets u play all heroes in a fate pile , but yeah pretty disappointed , I can understand ursula sucking , since she's a first print character and u still get like 4 other characters in her box but jeez in yzma bad , at least scar is very fun to play , and haven't tried ratigan yet but hopefully he's better

@@LordoftheBoard I felt she was just thee most limited character I've played , u need to know to keep a dagger or an ally in ur hand in order to kill kuzco , and if those 4 cards got clumped at the bottom of ur deck even after ur shuffle, ur kinda screwed
