Yeah, that's actually really relatable. For some reason and I don't know why, a lot of people, including me, can make a move only to realize that it was a blunder literally THE SAME EXACT SECOND that you've made that move.. And I mean the same exact second. You put the piece down and you're immediately like: Oh shit...

@robinbrown6530

If you managed to give your opponent five queens and still baited a stalemate then perhaps you should be teaching Levy Chess. (This is a joke stemming from grammatical ambiguity as either the player or the opponent could be the one with five queens. Yes I understand the original comment was a joke as well. It is sad that this kind of disclaimer is needed on virtually any and all KZbin comments these days. RIP all senses of humor.)

@@robinbrown6530 I'd love to teach Levy Chess. "Levy Chess" is in fact my favorite type of chess to teach, and I teach it to all my friends. (This is a joke stemming from grammatical ambiguity. Yes I understand the original comment was a joke as well. It is sad that this kind of disclaimer is needed on virtually any and all KZbin comments these days. RIP all senses of humor.) (This is a satirical joke on your all too real comment of how disclaimers are always needed to try to tell a joke because of how toxic people can sometimes be. I hope no one takes this personally, I'm just having fun playing off of your joke with one of my own.)

I really appreciate this channel, I’m thirteen and I just started playing chess. Watching one of your videos gave me an immediate advantage over some of my family members. Aka my younger brother and mother. I haven’t played anyone else in my family. But I know most of them are really good. My grandpa is insane at checkers and chess, he can map out a whole plan and then put me in a trap and I lose. Chess so far is really fun and I feel “fancy” knowing how to play.
@michaeltorrisi7289

Hold on to that. I loved chess when I was a kid. There was no internet (obligatory "back in my day" statement), but I'd check out move lists from games in the newspaper. I ran into a couple of masters that were just kind of jerks and it really soured me on the whole thing. I stopped playing and never went back. I wish I had kept up. Chess is one of the few pure competitions out there. Modern video games are loaded with RNG so bad players can beat better players and feel better about themselves. With chess, when you win, you deserved that win, 100% of the time. And when you lose, you can always go back and study why so that you can become better. I hope you keep learning and improving and most of all, keep enjoying it!

@@michaeltorrisi7289 I'd add fighting games as a caveat to your point about RNG in video games. Fighting games don't have RNG and like chess, every win is deserved, and losses can be studied later. In fact, me learning fighting games has helped me learn chess since the same skills for analyzing your games and improving after a loss carry over.

@19:44 I believe that this is the point levy starts to believe that the viewer is watching the stream. If you notice, he begins to talk more to the audience ("dont resign.", "ok you could resign now") he also alternates his strategies without saying every possibility of his plan.
